Right, V8s are completely underpowered man

You sure showed all of those DUMBestic owners. See what I did there? DUMBestic? Get it?

Thats exactly why I said what I said man....
I was poking fun at those people.
But really... do you need 6.0 Liters of displacement for 450 HP????????

You can't sit there and admit 4 cyl turbo engines are better than a V8 6.0L just because of engine size? The fact is you burn the same amount of gas for 450hp v/s 450hp.

There is no better engine than thou art bullshiot, run what you brung no excuses and no apples to oranges comparisons. 450hp = 450hp whether it's in a turbo 4 cyl or a big V8. Man where's the love?

Please don't start with the 4cyl vs. V8 debate crap again.

Tis not true.....
It's all about technology.
Old tech vs. new tech.
You have to admire the technology involved in a 4 Cyl. that can produce the same amount of HP as a motor twice the size. Sorry but i am an engineer and I believe that high tech is way better than low tech. It's personal opinion.....
I had on my board here at work a diagram of the Z06 displacement and the new EVO IX displacement.

EVO IX displacement:
2.0L = 286 HP = 143HP/L

Z06 displacement:
7.0 L = 500 = 71.43HP/L

If the EVo IX had 7L it would produce 1001 HP

Obviously its in jest.....
But interesting none the less.

Seriously, let's stop this debate right now because it is only going to end in tears.

EDIT: The Z06 would walk the **** out of an Evolution.

TURBO!

Dood if you are seriously an engineer, please go back to school, you obviously leave out the important stuff.

Rotational mass is different. Pushing 4 pistons (rods, crank and valvetrain) and a turbo means moving about half the mass of a V8. You don't burn the same (exact) fuel, but it would probably be close. It's also unlikely you're going to put out power the same way with such radically different motors. Not saying one is better than the other, but it's worth considering.

EDIT: My last point being if you want to say "my car makes 450HP" then either engine will do. If you want more linear output of power to reach that 450HP...that 6.0l V8 is going to do the job better.

Yes the point was it takes about the same amount of gas, and the output is still the same 450 v/s 450 granted the curves would be different and torque and whatnot. Quoting a 4cyl turbo is better than a V8 of the same power or vise versa is a fool's statement, because what is this 'better' we are talking about? Road racing? Drag? Drift? Circle track?

The fact is 450 is 450 whether it's from a turbo 4 or V8 and niether is better or worse than the other, on the 'entire' average of racing applications.
