All these things have been discussed before but to regurgitate what I can remember:

1. Evo is cheaper to mod than STI. Some of this has to do with the STI boxer layout - also the STI ECU is complicated.

2. Evo Engine is stronger.

3. STI interior fit and finish is better.

4. STI has 2.5L = torque.

5. STI also has cruise control if this is something that is important to you. Evo does not.

6. Stock suspended EVO will outhandle the STI hands down.

7. The STI has a 6 speed vs 5 speed in all Evo's excepting MR.

Be prepared to spend lots of dough for either but there seems to be a lot more STI's than evo's out there.
The EVO has always been more mod friendly and has thus far proven to ve the MUCH BETTER drag car. Say what you want about RWD bias and what not, but the amount of numbers the EVO has been laying down are not matched by the STi thus far. If you asked which car can run 11s for $2,500 or less, the only answer here would be EVO. Not saying the STi is not capable of putting down the numbers, but just has not been as mod friendly as the EVO thus far. Spend lots of dough? Please explain, compared to what? A Cobra or a Viper? The EVO has proven to be able to hit 11s for $2,500 or much less, that's pretty cheap in my book, especially when we are talking about 2.0L Turbo 4 Cylinder. Especially when you are talking about a car that comes stock with only around 230-250WHP. Especially when your talking about a car that runs low to mid 13s stock. Spending lots of dough is a very vague comment, the EVO is one of the most mod friendly vehicles period and least expensive. Sure there are others with 4.6L Supercharged 8 Cylinders or 8.3L 10 Cylinders that can probably making more power and run faster times for less money (don't forget the Viper costs $80,000 to begin with) but isn't it amazing that we can even discuss such an issue when the EVOs engine is so tiny compared to the Cobra and Viper.

Oh, the storcker kit is $30k...STi engine is still bigger than even a stroked evo engine. =(

I really hope that you are just talking **** to this kid.

The Evo appeals to me due to the ease of mods & the way the car takes to them.I just want to do some simple bolt-ons & a Vishnu. The STI is also much more exspensive on initial purchase let alone to mod.

Why would you want a Evo or Sti as a drag car anyway? There much more fun for real driving. They are fast but there's no skill in it, be like you sure can go strait.
