Get whatever you want, just do yourself a favor and don't street race. You don't have enough driving experience to handle a accident situation. My kid turns 16 in 2 years, he'll be getting a nice honda civic. That's comming from a father who's been racing before most on this board was born. I have an open mind to fast cars but teenagers and fast cars don't mix. Stay alive!

Quote: ok if this is your first car dont even look to mod you will kill yourself so fast it will be funny. ive seen so many of these "my parents are getting me a brand new evo what can i do to it" if you do get one dont touch till u know how to handle stock evo.
How do you convince yourself you can handle the power? Take it to redline? How do you know that you can handle an EVO? What do you look for/do?

What a bunch of trash talking fools. Half of the people on this website cant handle the car themselves. For all you know this kid could school you in your own car. Just because you have seattime dont mean ****. If you dont have any usefull info for this kid than keep your trash to yourself. This is exactly why this forum is just as much trash as honda-tech and the srtforums. Ive visited both for years and recently joined this one and exactly the same ****.

Kid if you are looking for a car that has it all than the evo or sti will do it for you. Both handle very well and are low 13 second cars from the factory with capable driver. Personally I think the evo is more my style and takes less money to go faster. **** exhaust alone on my car added like 40whp. Just be careful with whatever car you choose. Both cars will make you feel like you are a racecar driver and then at the point you do loose it, it will be to late and more than likely it will be a serious accident. Ask any evo owner which car he would take and of course he would say evo. Then again ask any sti owner which car he would take and of course he would say sti. Both cars are badass in there own ways.

Evo hands down! Like stated b4 you can run 11's with less than 2500 in mods on stock turbo!!! How many sti's have u seen run 11's with stock turbo? 0!! I saw an STI with full tbe, headers, mbc, UTEC and other mods run 12.8 @101!! Thats pretty sad if u ask me!! Get the Evo!!

My friend's sti (cutout, intake, utec- base map) has run 12.9 - 13.8 @ 102 - 99. They can be close to an evo until an evo gets cams. The sti's have less mods available, and tunners are less familiar with the engine. Sti's however can take launch after launch after launch. My friend takes his to the track all the time and has had zero clutch / tranny issues. One time he ran 24 + runs! They are both great cars each having their own strengths and weaknesses. Either way you will be happy.

OMG are you joking me...Sorry if i seem to be hijacking the thread...but i just posted "sorry for the double post" due to the fact that i had posted previously explaining how some of the mods post things that are obviously out of line..the next day i check and whats that?? my post is deleted??....I merely explained why Timzcat was being out of line as a moderator and thsu was being immature...It just seems rediculous that a mod would say something so outrageous not knowing the person what so ever.....Wow...its really sad that moderators or whoever deleted the post...went out of his/her way to delete my post because someone simply proved them wrong....wow....reasons why i stay on other forums....

Back on topic....I would honestly say if your not looking to mod from the get go..drive both cars...see which you have a better feel for and choose that way....from what i have seen...its up to taste and opinion..

I drove a stock STi last week and it feel nice (well I never get to drive an Evo before), interior is sooo much better than EVO

But one thing, STi/Subaru's doors are easy to open due to the window doesn't have a frame (I work at Subaru and I open the doors all the time whenever the key is left inside and locked) and for sure thief knows that too.

I also have a friend with an sti with, tb apex n1, injen intake, boost controller not pushing but 1psi more than stock, with mix of pump and race, went 12.5@108 here in boise. I think thats pretty damn respectable. Its all in the driver. Most sti drivers like evo drivers cant handle their business. Both cars are sick the evo just plain an simple has more straight line potential. 6 speeds suck for 1/4mile passes. Isnt that right warrtalon!!!!

Hah. Has anyone said the STi 6spd sucks? I didn't notice, but yeah, my 6spd is about as good as it gets if you're trying to get 12.2s on minimal mods. Anything better than that is a pipe dream...
