what up every1. Just bought a 05 evo 8. I never had a import so i just have a few questions. I got a hks racing suction intake, hks bov, hks downpipe, hks turbo timer, and a hks hi power cat back exhaust for it already. I bought this as another car to drive cause my truck has a gas problem, but after driving this i love it. especially for the price of 27,000 with 1000 miles, i couldnt get another car this nice. so my question is what else do you guys recommend for big power. i want this thing to be just sick.

Also another ques i have is what is a good way to take off the line in a race, reving up and dumping clutch or what. dont mean to sound stupid. any help will be greatly appreciated.

welcome, DO NOT dump the clutch, not with a AWD car. rev to 5K, slip the clutch a little, ONCE the car is moving (2-5 feet) the drive train is under load, and it would be safe to "stomp-it". Dont overkill with the sick power, you will miss the quickness, ease of driving of the other stuff. Find a tuner (Dynoflash/AMS/Vishnu/Bushur etc...) and STAY with that tuner, and they will guide you all the way! Dont get parts from this tuner, and some parts from another tuner etc... the parts might not "talk together" as well as you want them to! Learn from our mistakes. good luck

another ques i have is that my car didnt come with hid. but i have a full kit. can i just put them in or do i need to but the headlamp assembely.

 

oh and if you had gas problems with another vehicle dont count on the EVO to be your salvation. It doesnt get the greatest.

 

its alot better than a $65 fill up and getting about 225 miles

 

yeah but you use all premium. which here is 29-30 a tank. and if you are like me, I cant stay off boost, I only get an average of 160 to 180 a tank, so less than 20, Id say im at about 17mpg

 

yeah i put premium in evo and in my truck. i hear ya. after i got the bov i have been going crazy. LOVE THAT SOUND
