I have 295 whp on a dyno dynamics after Shiv tuned the IX w/ Tanabe 70mm DP, Works HFC and Greddy Ti cat back (at the time). Stock intake / filter. Whole new driving experience and I HIGHLY recommend a tune for stock IX owners.

Well 300whp sounds good now, then you want 325, then 350, then 400. Its just, at least for me, I have realized that if money equals speed how fast can you afford to go? I am at a stock EVO's wallet range. haha. And barely making that. I am not a racer, especaially 1/4 mile. If anything you may catch me at a SOLO II event on the weekends. But, some cars are good left alone. I find the EVO is one of those cars. IMO. All power to the EVO power gods, its just I can't make the financial sacrafice........Jeff

res04,

How was fitment with the Tanabe DP? I'm still researching the way to go as far as an exhaust for my IX MR so I'd appreciate your installation thoughts and how it is performing now. Any noise or rubbing issues?

Thanks,

Tony

Also, are you getting any cels with that Hi flow cat? Is that on 91 or 93 octane?

Sorry for all the questions,

Tony

If you are refering to 300WHP on a DD, then it's really more like 330-340WHP on a Dyno Jet. That's the thing about the IX reaching these HP levels isn't really that much of an investment in cash. $1,500 or less puts you almost about equal with a Porsche 911 Turbo (Not the newer Turbo S or GT2) as far as straight line speed. Imagine that, very few cars costing $35,000 or less can say that it only takes $1,500 to reach such performance levels of a $100,000 Porsche. Probably the only car that when was new cost around $35,000 (2003 and up) that can claim such an achievement (straight line speed) with such a little investiment is the 2003-2004 Cobra. I can understand it for the Cobra, 4.6L Forced Inducted 8-Cylinder, the EVO IX is just a 2.0L Turbo 4-Cylinder, such an amazing achievement.

2000-2004 Porsche 911 Turbo
415HP/415TQ (underrated)
3390-3460Lbs
DD Dyno- 305-320WHP/305-320WTQ
1/4 Mile- 12.0-12.4@114-118MPH

2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX ($1,500 worth of Mods)
3210-3290Lbs
DD Dyno- 285-300WHP/285-300WTQ
Estimated 1/4 Mile- 12.0-12.4@113-116MPH
