Sup everyone!

I just got my new GG IX MR from Tom @ HB Mitsubishi on Friday. Lovin the car more than ever! It's much faster than my All-Trac, don't need to mention the IS300. At 435 miles, can't wait til 600 comes around to see how fast the car really is. It's pretty much perfect in stock form.... so far

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself... I plan to dyno the car sometime soon, and for sure go to California Speedway on the 14th if I can find a helmet.

P.S. HB Mitsubishi rules!

come on man! It's 600 per .

Different strokes for different folks though. Some say, beat-it out the box and some say wait first 1000 miles. BUT, says 600 miles.

What does the manuel say how to break it in? Is their a specific way to break in the car. Just curious and dont want to sit in the parking lot when i purchase mine. Just so i am prepared when i go.

Don't shift over 5000 rpm no matter what and always let the car warm up for a couple minutes before driving. Read as don't shift more than 3500 rpm for the first couple minutes. Question, should we flush break-in oil once we reach the alloted mileage?

I went for the "hard break in" method and gunned it out of the dealership

*This was after I test drove it and let it warm up. =)

No hard stops for the first 300 miles, this is harder than the not going over 5K rpms. Be easy on the clutch for the first 300 also.. I think regular in-town driving works great - avoid the dragstrip for the first 600 miles. Also, I think the concensus is that you can boost for that first 600 miles.. just not supposed to get over 5000 rpms. You should vary engine speed (intown driving - avoid a long road trip right now). The engine has Mobil 1 Synthetic as the factory fill and that is the oil that you should always use. I"m changing mine as soon as I can get by the dealer to grab some filters. I have 1200 miles on my AS IX MR right now. I think most people find metal in their first oil change and I'd like to get any shavings out sooner than later. Oh yea.. I suggest a read of the manual.
