Hello from Australia!
Hello from Australia!
Hi all,
My name is Merv and I'm from Melbourne, Australia
I'm in the market for an EVO IX as my daily driver. I currently own a highly modified 1989 911 Turbo Cabriolet. Awesome car, but a real b!tch to drive daily, thus my reason for shopping for an EVO.
I've only just started researching these awesome pocket rockets and so far I've been extremely impressed with the HP gains achievable with relatively simple mods.
Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and continue my research.
Have fun!
Merv
P.S: Does anyone know if a DynoFlash is available for the Australian delivered EVO's? Our fuel is rated differently to you guys in the states. We have Premium Unleaded fuel rated at 98 Octane and also just recently, Shell's 100 Octane. I'm not sure how these ratings equate to the US fuel grades/ratings

G'day and thanks for the warm welcome
Not really a fan of Fosters Lager... prefer Heineken myself
BTW, if anyone's interested in my findings, the US 93 MON fuel is the equivalent of our 98 RON. So, I assume our 100 RON Ethanol based fuel is the equivalent to the US 94 MON fuel.
Actually, the USA uses an AKI rating, not MON. AKI = Anti Knock Index

Thanks maaaayte
BTW, can anyone clarify for me that the figures I've seen on this board are HP at the wheels?
What's the typical drivetrain losses associated with the EVO's AWD system?
If at the wheels, then with a simple intake, TBE and ECU re-Flash mod, these cars are developing approximately 400 HP at the flywheel, correct?
