And if you turbo it do it right, Plus you would need to get a rebuild on the motor done. My friend Todd went through three motors before rebuilding it. Now his car is cherry. So moral of the story stick with the evo unless you have 20 grand you want to spend in motor work. He currently has two 350 zs. He is selling one I think for 32 g. Its fully rebuilt. And turboed

Wife drives a Z - I think it looks like a chick car.. It's OK to drive, corners pretty well, but it is slow... The wife LOVEs her car, but she admits the EVO is A LOT faster !

I'd go for the supercharger, if I did any mods on the Z

Both Evo and 350Z are fun to drive cars, but the downside on the Z(2 seater), you can't share the fun with the rest of your buddies. Anyways, Goodluck!

Former Z owner here. 2005 Touring Roadster. Lack of room irritated me to no end, although driving with the top down and getting the tail loose was fun. I take the same corners in the Evo at the faster speeds and it just stays planted. No wait, that's a

The interior in the Z in terms of switches and things felt a little cheaper, but the entire design of the interior made you feel like the car was built around you, screw the passenger. The evo just feels like you just happen to be sitting in the drivers seat, standard sedan type feel. Exterior, the Z will probably get you more props, but I love the way the Evo looks...

The only thing I miss about the Z is the gas mileage/tank. It was nice getting 350-400 on a tank of gas... I have to stop twice as often now.

of course we're gonna say keep the evo, i traded my black 350z for a white evo rs 5 months ago, no regrets, im 100% happy and feel complete now, end of story.
Of course there's a point... what a ridiculous comment.

If you can't give an unbiased opinion of the strengths and weaknesses of your car then why even answer?

I love the Z. On a day-to-day basis it might be a more "liveable" car. I, however, don't mind the ride and noise of my Evo (though the Z ain't quiet, either). The entertainment value is unbeatable. Besides, if I need quiet and comfy I just switch w/ my wife.

In fact, the only thing missing is the snottiness you get in a Porsche or some exotic. There's nothing like driving something no one else has.

I used to have a Z, and I thought the car was great... but not being able to fit more than 2 bags of groceries and a passenger got old real quick. Worst feature on the Z was the glove box behind the passenger seat... nice design Nissan

On a plus side, the Z felt solid and great through turns (very little body roll). The low end torque made it easier to drive smoothly. Got alot of looks, and paint was higher quality in comparison to my Evo. Driving at low speeds (like rush hour traffic) was easier and smooth, as the Evo shutters like a Chihuhua humping a couch leg.

But like everyone has said the Evo is more practical and faster. Gas mileage is about the same, and the Evo is more tunable. Resale seems to suck on both of them, so that is a wash. If you have some cash to mod and a daily driver, the Z would be a nice choice. If you want a four door racecar buy an Evo.

350Zs suck wind.
The engine (VQ35DE) is practically platform shared across the entire Nissan/Infiniti line. Its soulless, gutless, responds horribly to mods, and generally sucks.

The fit and finish of the 350Z is worse than even the Evo. The interior pieces are cheap, the paint has a ton of orange peel, and the overall feel is poor.

The only thing the 350Z has going for it is that it is RWD. Other than that, its a total shapile in my book. I wouldn't walk across the street to take a dump on one. Worse engine evAr.

Wow this is harsh. Comming from Nissan I have to disagree with this. About the VQ35DE engine that has been listed on the Wards 10 ten list for the last 5 years. It's predcessor the VQ30DE was listed on Wards top 10 for 7 years. Nissans VQ30DE & VQ35DE are an incredible engines. From what I've heard the bottom end is not as strong as the VQ30DE the engine that was in the 1995-01 Max and/I30. As long as you change the oil every 3k-5k with Pure Syn oil and no more than Basic Power Upgrades you shouldn't have any problems. I didn't and i drove my car like i stole it for most of it's life. Not sure if the same can be said for the EVO's engine.

The stock interior pieces may look and probably are cheap but they are nicer than an EVOs interior. As for the paint as long as you don't get black you should be fine.

Things the z has going for it are a world class engine and a nice design. The Z is nice car but Nissan could have made it so much better. If they would have lighten the car to under 3000lbs. Bumped the horse power to 330 or 350 and added a mechanical limited slip to the track model. This car would have been the best performance bang for the buck since the 2004 Corvette Z-06, but nissan didn't. So you end up with and over weight under performing sports car.
