350z or keep the evo
I had an 04 350Z, I had Intake, Exhaust, a 3.9 Final Drive rear end, adjustable sway bars and springs, it ran low 13's, looked way more pimp than my evo (had 19's on it), and definitly had a better ride.
With that being said I traded my Z straight up for my Evo and couldnt be happier, the Z was fun, but I always felt like it needed more power, even with the new rear end it still needed a little something.
I got the Evo for a few reasons:
The Turbo Factor
AWD for Chicago winters (the Z was a daily driver, it doesnt move in the snow)
4 Doors
A usable trunk
Granted I am 24 and didnt have a family to worry about, the only way I would consider a Z is if I could drive it year round and it had an APS single turbo kit on it. I would also not have it as a daily driver again. It sucks when you and a buddy go to a party and your meeting your girlfriend there, then have to figure out how to get them both home when you only have 2 seats.

350z's are for people who are insecure and need looks (which are subjective anyway) to make themselves feel better in a media controlled world, make your decision.
(The above statement is my opinion, take it as you will.

Keep the Evo, Trust Me.
keep the Evo, in snow the z is garbage, the z doesnt hold its value as well, it has no back seat , it eats more gas and gets less power to the ground, the z's front end looks wierd, i would rather have an 2007 eclipse gt 3.8liter v6 then a z, its just as fast as a z....
EEEEEE VVVVVVV OOOOO
EEEEEE VVVVVVV OOOOO
I've driven my friends' white 350z with exhaust, intake and cams. It feels slow compared to my evo
and i have the same upgrades. We've race and I put multiple cars on him.
As far as looks 350z is a sleek car but the EVO looks hella meaner and more aggressive, it looks like it's ready to beat some ***.
My friend complains mostly about the 2 seats and sometimes he says he wished he would have gotten a corvette instead, he would get an evo too but he doesn't "want to copy me". 350z's are sissy cars, EVO's are the real deal.

On a plus side, the Z felt solid and great through turns (very little body roll). The low end torque made it easier to drive smoothly. Got alot of looks, and paint was higher quality in comparison to my Evo. Driving at low speeds (like rush hour traffic) was easier and smooth, as the Evo shutters like a Chihuhua humping a couch leg.
But like everyone has said the Evo is more practical and faster. Gas mileage is about the same, and the Evo is more tunable. Resale seems to suck on both of them, so that is a wash. If you have some cash to mod and a daily driver, the Z would be a nice choice. If you want a four door racecar buy an Evo.

Another Former Z owner (03 Touring-worst year to buy-allignment issues, but I never had problem). I had forgot about the wonderful glove box and you forgot to mention the great location of the power outlet. Overall, I liked the Z. Got better gas mileage (26-29) and I did like the sound (only when outside the car). The stereo (bose) was worse than the SSL package, having little trunk space, and getting in and out of it was a chore, once inside it felt snug, but the Recaro feel better to me. Power more explosive in the Evo but the Z hadled well (not better than Evo). Overall I like the Evo better in many ways.
what the...where'd the OP go. he needs to give us way more info before anybody can give him/her any suggestions....
funny how 3 pages just jumped out without really knowing what the OP's real problems/concerns are.
i for one think that the Evo is unbeatable for anything under $45,000. and i personally love the way the Evo looks, esp. the IX. but the OP might have a difference in opinion, so before we hear him out, i think it's kinda pointless to keep jumping on his face and telling him that the Evo's the better car.
imho.

I used to own a Z. Here are the pros and cons to me:
Pros of Z
1. Chick magnet.
2. nice torque motor at low end
Cons of Z
1. Slower than evo at the track.
2. two doors, no trunk.
3. terrible visibility, rear pillars are a nightmare, blindspots are hugemongeous.
4. VDC (Vehicle dynamic control) is way over active and interferes with high performance driving
Relative to the evo I think:
1. Z has better build quality
2. Evo is way faster
3. Evo handles significantly better
4. Evo doesn't have electronic driving aids that are as noticeable as the Z's (I hate VDC).
5. Evo has a trunk
6. Evo has four doors.
7. Z is harder to mod, Evo is quite easy
8. All wheel drive +evo
There is significantly more talk on evom about performance than on the Z boards. On the Z boards its more about the rims or the body kit.
The main reason I sold my Z was because of the rear pillars. The blind spots are ridiculous and if you're driving fast on the freeway its downright dangerous.

With all that said, if you're looking to be a p-i-m-p and performance isn't your primary thing, than go with the Z. Even though Z's are everywhere in Socal, where I live, you still get lots of looks driving that thing.
They're nice, but slowww. A buddy of mine has one, and he loses every time.
But he also has something like 19x10s on it also, so that makes it even worse. Yeah, the Z is definitely more of a "pimp my ride" kinda thing.
