i drive both the 8 and the 350z. if your evo is over 400 hp and you're bored with it, the z is not going to put you in the headrest and you will lose races, get pissed, and realize it will cost a fortune to get any respectable power out of the nissan... But if you dont really care...

The Z is classier. You'll look nice stepping out of a shiny, black one for your first interview after college. And dopey, college chicks dig 2 seaters.

I have a g35 Cpe 6spd that has sat in the garage since I bought the EVO. It's definitely a looker, people always taking a peek.....from all ages young and old. I have driven the G35 twice in the past 3 months. Once due to getting tinted windows on the EVO and another since there were too many EVOs at a meet and no G35's, plus my woman didn't want to go out unless we took the G. It's has been driven about 30 miles or less in 3 months haha.

Hahaha..... it's still a nice car don't get me wrong, just not exciting at all. And after driving a quick responsive EVO, the G35 feels...... errrr.... slow and porky. But it's a totally different ride, decent luxury stuff and smooth as you would expect from this car. I originally bought it thinking I was getting out of modding cars but realized that wasn't so at about 30 days into it.

350z has a better-sounding exhaust note, but they are mad common. I see one pretty much everyday. I don't see Evos that often and plus with the Evo, you get a way bigger trunk without that rear strut brace that gets in the way (in the 350z) and the Evo also seats 5. Plus, it has turbo and AWD. Also, don't forget about the Evo's warranty.

I traded in my Evo for a 350Z and don't regret it at all. I love the RWD, being in a sport coupe, etc... etc... Both have there pluses and minus. It depends on what you are looking for. I did a little write after trading in the Evo and comparing the two. Have to search to find it.

I see Evo's everyday, they aren't that rare, but then again I see Z's everyday too. around my neck of the woods, there isn't one new car that I've not seen, even if it's not even for sale yet, cause some big $$$ person has already pre-ordered the exotic before it even enters the showroom sales floor. I like the Z, it holds itself together very well overall, but as far as straightline power, the Evo is just too much for a Z. Both cars are great in each aspect of their own

Pretty funny, I asked my ex girlfriend what she thought looked better, I showed her a picture of the Z and the Evo, and she said the Evo. She had a good eye, I miss her sometimes.

Im a 350 z expert buddy , used to sell nissans for 3 years and i can tell that the VQ series engine is really something. Microfinished camshafts and crankshaft, Molyblendum coating on pistons , and lets not forget the 53/47 weight ratio of the car leaving it the ultimate cornerning setup , see by the time you get to the apex of the turn the extra 3% of the weight shifts too the middle leaving at a perfect 50/50 weight distrubution through corners. It has a mid-platform design wich allows the engine to be mounted further back . Timing chain driven no belt to wear out. 11.5 disc rotors on all four corners leaving awesome braking . But I own a EVOLUTION i would never buy a 350z over a evo anyday

1) I think the population of the cars vary. IE: I live in Colorado where the AWD is perfered and I see a ton of Evo/STi all day long. Move somewhere more South and I'm sure the 350Z is everywhere cause of the fact that RWD can be driven all year long.
2) I don't regret trading in my Evo for a Z anyday. I love to Road Race and like EvoIX4Me said it really loves the corners. But its not you hauling kids/grocery car.
3) I get more looks from the girls in the Z than I ever did in the Evo. I also got more ricers trying to race me in the Evo than I do in the Z. Less cop attention as well in the Z.
4) Too each their own and both have there +/-.

Evo is faster, yes. But in the first three shifts. After fourth, The Z pulls. Obviously talking about stock to stock cars and Evo 8. Everyone knows that up top the Z wins. Thats a 50/50 win.

I love the Evo and prefer it to the Sti. Also it will beat the Z in almost every performance test, but up top, only the IX's take me.
