I know it has already been said but I know from experience that alot can happen in just 3000 miles! My first Evo was used and I asked them why it was traded w/3K on it. They said his wife had a baby and it had to go. Wasn't his wife pregnant before the purchase? Anyway, I had the car 2 days and found out the clutch was SMOKED! I traded it in and got a new tarmac black one after 2 more days of fussing w/ the dealership. Good Luck!

Just because it's my decision doesn't mean it's a good one...
umm im not saying waste money? hes not buying a rusted old lawn mower for 100 less bad analogy if you ask me, thats like comparing an apple to an orange? the fact is an 05 ssl on the east coast was roughly 34k before taxes etc....if the dealer listed this 05 at 28k, and you got him down to 26k thats not a bad deal at all? if the car checks out.....thats 8k less than brand new 05 at the time they were new? which was a year ago....with depreciation i dont see where that price would be wrong, under 10k the car wont lose that much value? If he can get the 05 for say 26k thats already 7k less than the 06 from south coast without paying another extra 1000 for shipping? which is a huge amount off monthly payments...and plus some of us cant afford 500-600 payments or drop a huge down payment at once and we find the next best way to get the car we want?....Thats why I said if it checks out, price is right and you really want it go for it.....and if you decide to get the IX and its affordable, well either way its tons of fun!!

btw my assumption was the reason you were looking at used was because a new one is just out of your price range.....

Some people dont know what there budget will be until after the baby is born? after they saw the expenses for the baby they probablly figured they could save more money by getting rid of the evo and getting a more practical family car? If you had the car 2 days and found out the clutch was smoked, how werent you able to feel that on a test drive? when a clutch is slipping you know it for more than 2 days, its not something that one day oh it grabs great and 2 days later its totally shot, like flipping a light switch...You should have felt it slipping on the test drive....

I'm gonna head down to the dealer this Saturday and take it for a test drive. Is there anything in particular I should look for during the test drive?
