Smile Hello Everybody!

Hi, i just bought a 04 lancer ES . I thought that i was doomed with this car cause i havent found too much after market bolt-ons, till i found this site

Now i am soo hooked on this baby, after seeing how mani ppl have this car and others, and how much stuff there is outhere (if you look arround).

So, mi question is, Wich CAI is better for Performance and for the $$$?
AEM, Injen or the RRM...

All intakes the do the same thing. You're not going to see more than 2whp with an intake so go with the cheapest one, which is RRM. If you want to get it because of looks then get the AEM.

Welcome to the forums. They practically have a forum for any type of car nowadays.

As for CAI's you can get an INJEN as well. Remember this was the first company to even make intakes for our car before everyone else. But hey, whatever you can afford. As for performance, they all do what they gotta do!

enjoy!

welcome.. but if you are looking for performance out of your new lancer, turbo/supercharged is the only way to go.. other than that, the next best gain might be from ecu/header/intake/exhaust combo.. thats bout it. Trust me, just save up for a RRM turbo kit.. you'll totally love the car after that. You will probably be disappointed with the amount of money you spend for just regular non-turbo mods vs. the amount of power you will get out of them. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just start with a turbo kit.

k, I'll put it in perspective.. the lancer makes 120hp at the crank from the factory.. thats about 105whp or so from most of the stock dyno's I've seen. Now if you add the header/intake/exhaust/ecu, you might get around 130whp or so.. and you've spent probably around $1500 for those mods if they are decent quality. Thats $1500 you could have put toward the turbo kit.. with just the most basic RRM turbo kit ($2700), you'll be making 180-200whp. Thats a huge increase over stock, or any n/a mods that are available for the lancer.

I am convinced now that Turbo is the way to go

Till then, i will save some $$$ for it!!!

For now i will concentrate on the suspension.

My new question is, Wich is the best combo for suspension?

Full coilovers (Tein)

spring/shocks combo

I'm not sure exactly what is offered for the ES, cause I have an OZ and the options are a little different. Maybe an ES guy could help you out a little more. But if you want to enhance the suspension, the lancer already handles pretty decently so I just went with springs. (eibach). Then I added a strut bar to stiffen up the front handling a little better. I can take those curvy off ramps at around 65mph now opposed to only around 50mph before.. I also have 17x7 rims/tires as well. It handles quite well. For the ES, you might want to invest in a rear sway bar, front strut bar, and springs to start off with. That should give you nice handling. Don't go with the Ebay strut bars, they are junk and don't do their job. Visit www.roadracemotorsports.com and look at their quality parts they offer. Even give them a call and talk to them to see what they might suggest. They'll help you out with ANYTHING. I have talked on the phone with them for over an hour before I ordered my turbo setup. They are soo helpful and will explain everything in great detail to help you make the best decision.

Until then, just do some searches on the forum here to see what others have done and what they recommend. =)

kbar, tie bar, rear strut bar

coilovers: nex, tein, ss or basic depends on if u want adjustible dampening.
