Great choice on the IX - you have what we consider a supercar. The 05 Evo VIII was a GREAT car, but your IX is just on a different level.

When you're ready to mod, let me know. I can help make you fast as hell for very little money spent while retaining perfect drivability and reliability.

congrats on the new car. You are going to enjoy it. There is a huge amount of information on this site. Just remember a turboback exhaust and re-flash do amazing things for the 06.

Not sure how well the 06 bovs hold boost but the 03-04s couldnt hold much past stock. So if you are running more than stock boost I think you made a good decision, althought I didnt see you mention a MBC. Intake wont make you slower than stock if your tune is programmed for it, which I assume it is. It will add a little, just usually not enough to justify the price for intakes.

No, the 06s have the JDM MDR DV - the aluminum version of what we got on 03-05s. It holds to 24-25psi and should not be replaced, especially not as a first mod. That's foolishness.

i dont know which one but i was gonna get aem intake. i think ill skip the bov now but with the intake and exhaust and boost controller im definitely gettin my ecu reflashed for the mods. i just got the parts so they are not installed yet (gotta find time.....) im just tryin to get some easy horsepower added. from working on the lightning for the past year i figured out that air is a must when tryin to add hp. with more air then the upgrades start comin in as far as engine work. what have some of you done with the evo from the start???? and what was the results???
