Crush Washer

I know this has been talked about alot and i did search. But does the 06 evo IX even have a crush washer? Actually ive changed oils on my other cars and there is no crush washer... infact ive never even seen a crush washer where the hell does it go and wahts it look like just a washer? I bought a Mobil1-110 Filter at first i was scared cause it looks skinnier but then i read that its fine and it does fit fine. Yea i guess im just a little paranoid i havent driven the evo yet but i was just worried about the oil leaking.

Any input would be very helpful, thanks.

Some cars have em some dont. They are a regular looking washer made up of like a copper alloy material that when torqued down properly crushes ever so slightly.

there are many different kinda of crush washers for oil drain plugs. Plastic, Rubber/metal, nylon, copper, alloy, ect. Many GM and other american cars have a rubber o-ring built into their drain plug so you don't have to replace the gasket every time you changet the oil. you should replace the gasket for every oil change since the crush washers are only designed to be cruched once. but many people just reuse the one they have.

Did you have one on it there when you took it off...if not dont worry about it. If you tightened the plug...drive the car all you have to do is check to see if its leaking...too easy...

Reviving this thread: Last weekend I changed my oil for the first time on my Evo IX, and found that it did NOT have a crush washer on the drain plug.
