The evo is way different from a regular lancer. Pretty much, the only body parts that are the same as a regular lancer are the trunk, and front door skins. The rest is all exclusive to the evo and the parts are outrageously priced too. Also, by trying to convert to an evo, you will have to somehow find an awd set up and pretty much spend more $$$ trying to make one than it's worth. Infact, you'd probably spend somewhere close to or if not more than the 48k that STis are out there. I'd just suggest buying an STi out there like someone else mentioned. Well, good luck!

 

I only read half of the first page so I'm sorry if I'm repeating something someone has already said. But I know you can convert the lancer to an Evo 7... which is somewhat close to an evo 8/9. Might be easier to do than the 8/9 conversion. But if you have your heart set on making it into an Evo 9, i'm sure it's possible. Just stand back and throw buckets of money at it.

 

ur gonna have to do some welding and some work here and there. U can jus go with a body kit and make it look like an evo. But still performance wise ur not gaining nething. Ull spend alot, if ur gonna totally change the body into an evo. ur gonna spend alot of money.

1) transforming into an evo, it has show but no go. ur car would jus pointless
2) If it does look like an evo, ur gonna get attention
3) again ppl in the forums and evo owners dont like this cause "wannabe Evo", ull jus imitate an evo but ull have no performance. The Evo has a look to dominate and if u jus transform the car for the look but has no performance, u jus let the Mitsu "Evolution" Down

 

hehe i dont want that haha ... i dont waste my money on **** like that...if there is no way to have an evo here ... than i dont want to be driving a lancer...someone mentioned that it might me the same chassis ... if its not an evo in the end i dont want it....so that why I was asking...

 

just wait a year and get a R33 GTR skyline. it'll be cheap and have more power than the evo. plus it'll be legal.

 

If you were wondering why the EVO won't be sold in Canada...it's because it didn't pass their crash tests. Good day

 

I've looked everywhere and can't find any evo ix kits for es lancer's.

But you could get an Evo VII kit, they still look pretty good.

 

if you know a good and trusted body shop just ask them to swap the vin plates from the lancer to the evo, I don't know if it will go through but it is an idea.
