SAFC II install and now... half idle??????
SAFC II install and now... half idle??????
I know this is a common subject covered with the SAFC install but mine is not a product of inproper install.
The resources that I used were.....http://www.evotuners.net/forums/showthread.php?t=111
does anyone have an idea of why my car (according to the SAFC) is idling at 440rpm
when the factory gauge clearly says a little under 1000rpm.....
settings: Karman, 4cyl, throttle up and to the right.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Brandon

The only thing that I can say is to check all the connections again and make sure they are right. Maybe there is something wrong with S-AFC. If the stock tach shows normal idle and the car is idling just fine then it has to be something with the AFC. I know there have bee several times when I hookes something up and it didn't work right and I was so sure that I didn't everything by the book only to find I missed some small detail.
Did you tap the right wire for RPM? The EvoTuners write-up used to say pin 58, but then it was revised to say pin 88, I believe. If you didn't see that note at the bottom, you have may have done it wrong. Usually, though, when you see half rpm, that's because of having the cylinders set wrongly.
