Seeing how my emblem is already off. And since I haven't found anything to fill the holes left in the grill, I guess I'l paint it flat black and put it back one.

I was thinking about buying the intercooler grill from the IX bumper and cutting it to the size of the grill where the emblem is. I do not know how possible that might be yet, but it sounds good If I do not like how that looks, or that does not work, Option B is painting the emblem black.

I will be doing this little side project when I upgrade my factory front mount which should be within a month or so.

I haven't seen an evo 8 emblem up close and in person, but, instead of painting the IX emblem black, could you remove the IX emblem and replace it with an VIII emblem like this one: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...&cat=49&page=1

I wouldn't imagine there'd be any problems, other than the fact that it makes the front emblem harder to remove due to adhesive compared to screws, but it's just an idea.

As people in the post had said, I squeezed my arm in behind the grill and removed the Mitsubishi badge screw. This left holes and the bracket visible behind the grill. To cover this, you can use a sheared piece of black aluminum with a couple brakes on it. This covers the holes and nearly all of the behind the grill bracket. With some good double sided tape and the flanges tucked top and bottom, there should be no issues with this falling off.
