how many z cars are there running 11's. I know there are a sh!tload of evos doin it. Plus I will take the evo's handling and all weather capability any day. One of the reasons I went with a evo in the first place. Not many cars that can go out run 11's and then you throw some winter tires on and thrash it in the snow.

having 2 doors is a prerequisite of a sports car so yes on that. lancer is not a sports car its a sports compact/ 4 dr sedan no matter how bare bones looks and interior wise it is. theres no reason to be shocked it won tuner of the year.. u can put a turbo kit on it and put out 450.. pretty tuner friendly to me... along with rwd and 50/50 weight distribution so u can drift it, turn it, road race, and drag race. sounds like a true sports car to me. as far as handling it comes with tcs, and look up the specs it handles quite well in the elements, and with the turbo it runs 11s if drag racing is that big of a deal to you. 350 was made for turning/ style/ being a sports car first but 13.9 stock isnt bad if ur into drag racing.

350Z or G-35 are sexy cars. If you want a beast then that's an Evo. If you want a real ugly beast then get an STi, lol. The only car that has both in my opinion is a Supra but they don't come cheap for a 90's car and are also rare cars on the road

I'm going to sell my evo and buy a ws6 transam. Does that mean that a lot of evos will be able to "beat me"? yes..does that mean I still wont love hearing that roar of a v8 and having that badass feeling of driving another car thats not so common to see on the road? no..if you enjoy what you drive thats all that matters. these people you see making 11 second and 10 second cars out of evos is great but that is their hobby not everyone is going to do that and therefore an evo is not for everyone

It's not as tuner friendly as you think... you NEED to put a turbo kit on the car to make any kind of power... the VQ doesn't make **** with NA bolt-ons. And even with a turbo, you gotta be careful not to blow the motor. So you end up spending close to $10g's to get great, RELIABLE power out of it. Not very tuner friendly if you ask me. It's also not 50/50 weight distro. And most Z owners turn the TCS off when they do any kind off "performance" driving... so there goes that one. With a turbo and drags on, you MIGHT run 11's (most run 12's)... or you most likely will snap an axle (much more common than seeing 11's). The 350Z is NOT made to be a drag car. 13.9 is DAMN HARD to hit in that car stock. Most people see a 14-14.2... SRT-4's can do better than that. It handles pretty good, but can be smoked by an S2K or an RX-8 in the twisties.

Hey OP, you already read what I posted on my350Z.com, so I'm not gonna post it again... just don't want you to get any misinformation from people like this.

53/47 is pretty close to 50/50 imo..but in all respects hes right with a crank pully and exhaust and chip the best you'd run (as my buddy did) with some drag tires would be around 13.5-13.7. For some people thats enough. For some people they're dont think drag is everything and so the track edition of the 350 when I drove it handled very well. does it have the traction of the evo no but it felt very low to the ground and very connected. Its all up to you.

I liked 350z's till i drove 1. I like evo's beforei drove it, and even more after i drove it. If you are going on looks alone, the 350z or g35 platform are great looking cars. If these cars had rb26dett's and were awd like a real skyline, thing would be different, But evo is the better car in my opinoin. Only thing you can do with a 350z is make it look cool. Going fast in a 350z is rediculous amounts of money, and when you do go fast it breaks. vq's are not cheap either.

You were good up until I bold it. All things break when they are modded to go fast, don't make this just 350z < Evo in that department. Take a look around the forums and all the people complaining/selling there evos because they modded it and it broke (engine problems). Than some members have the nerve to take all the parts off and send it to a mitsu dealer with a "I have no idea why it won't turn over" statement... smh.

I wasn't exluding evo's from breaking. Ive broke several cars, but what i was getting at is turbo 350's dont last if done cheaply. They break often, and i not saying it would be cheap, but i would rather rebuild a 4g63, then a vq. Have you see cams? or head work for a vq? Head work on a vq is going to runa minimum of 2500. You almost have to run a stand alone in a 350z. Yes all cars will break if driven hard, and you mod them to go fast, but look at my350z.com, and search for blow motor threads. Happens to pretty much everyone thats adds a power adder, be it supercharger, nitrous, turbo. Not to mention the turbo kit for a 350z start around 5k for a single turbonetics kit. Any of the good kits, like jim wolf technology's twin kit is up around 8k. the greddy kit is ok with the emange but still expensive. I love 350's dont get me wrong. I love nissans, but both cars are around the same price, and the same money in both cars evo will be faster, and more reliable.

Evo owners are gonna say "TT 350z runs 17's because they cant get traction like me", it's really stupid and immature. There is like what? 2 or 3 evo owners who went evo > 350z and when they come in here and give there opinion than other evo owners jump on there back "your car is slow, your car sucks, I have turbo, I have awd, My exhaust is sexy, I have 2 doors, nissan is more reliable, 4g63 makes more power" than the mods come and close it down.
I dont know about other people but I post up these types of threads because it is extremely useful in narrowing down a cars weaknesses and strong points. I expect answers to be biased which is why I posted on both forums. Its especially helpful when an ex 350z or ex evo owner chime in.

So guys what i want to hear is are you enjoying your sedan or are you wishing you went back and bought a true sports car attracting admireing looks from everyone and not just stupid comments like "look at that rice mobile you gona go flying with your econobox of crackers?"
Damn the things people do when there is just too much time on thier hands.

Couple months back, I couldn't decide between a 350z and EVO. Went test drive a Z and was EXTREMELY disapointed, went to drive the EVO and bought one the next day.
