Hi im asking this same question over in a 350z forum Im trying to get both sides of the story. the 350z same platform as the g35. +100% pure sex appeal.
-RWD. -VQ engine impossible to squeeze more power out of it, -space issue.

Evo -Riceboy stereo type, -family sedan look, -poor interior, -cop magnet, +AWD, +100% pure performance, +easy to get power outa, +space/seating.
So guys what i want to hear is are you enjoying your sedan or are you wishing you went back and bought a true sports car attracting admireing looks from everyone and not just stupid comments like "look at that rice mobile you gona go flying with your econobox of crackers?"

Okay, 350z is not a G35 when it comes to the panty dropping effect so there goes another one of your positves for the 350z. In my opinion you will turn way more heads with a nicely modded Evo then you ever will in a 350z. The Z is just such a common car that you see old women driving them. Now ask yourself, do you want to drive the same car as an old woman, or drive the Evo and be a little bit more unique! You be the judge...oh and you will always get a biased opinion depending on the forum so takes this as you will.

How about doing something with your life so that folks admire you for who you are, and not for the car you drive? As if anyone outside of another poseur would care in the first place.

 

It is nice to make guys with their BIG V8 engine choke on their econbox reference when you kick the crap out of them with your tiny 2 liter engine. Ahhhh yes, such a great feeling...maybe I will go for a drive later

 

i love the evo the way it is. i could care less what poeple think about the car, and its sad if you need a nice car to pick up girls.
Its 100% sport with no luxary and i love it.

 

I faced the same situation in 2003. So I took the easy way out and bought them both, 2003 EVO 8 and a G35 Sport Coupe. The bank has alot of money they are just dying to loan you
As far as panty dropping......after the guys at Turbotrix built my motor, she needs to change them after every ride. So you'll get more with the EVO

 

An Evo is way more of a true sports car, in terms of performance, than a G35 or 350Z. The only reason someone would say a G35 or 350Z is a "ture sports car" is because they have two doors

 

Drive both and decide. I'm taking care of a friends 350z for 4 months, it's just not a car that appeals at all to me I've driven it once in the month I had with it just because it had been sitting for a few weeks. It's his first standard so I drove more before he left giving him pointer on driving technique. He loves it and doesn't regret his decision ethier, but he's never driven my car to compare. Different stroke for different folk.

 

These type of threads are stupid, I don't understand why people take the time to make such a thread. Trying to garner your 15sec of fame? On evoM people are gonna say 'buy the evo' on a 350z forum people are gonna say 'buy the 350z'. 350z owners are gonna say "I can beat a stock evo". Evo owners are gonna say "TT 350z runs 17's because they cant get traction like me", it's really stupid and immature. There is like what? 2 or 3 evo owners who went evo > 350z and when they come in here and give there opinion than other evo owners jump on there back "your car is slow, your car sucks, I have turbo, I have awd, My exhaust is sexy, I have 2 doors, nissan is more reliable, 4g63 makes more power" than the mods come and close it down.

At the end of the day when your about to sign the dotted line the last thing on your mind is what some kids told you about [insert car here] on the evo/350z forum. Buy what suits your need, do your own research (use the search function), and than comeback to evoM saying "I just bought a IX"...

by far the evo is a true sport car, no luxury reenfinement here. you got a basic car, with a damn powerful platform to work with and you can get some big numbers out with some lil mods. as for the 350 or g35? there both "nice" if you would wanna say that, only thing they got going for them is looks and thats basically it. im still at shock that modified mag named the 350z tuner car of the year. LMAO
