air intake

found a maf adaptor and cone filter at pep boys. anyone know if this will work well on my IX MR with a tune. will post pics later. Is this basicly what all intakes are like or is it special in some way. i did install it and it made my car a little slower i think could i just need a tune.

It might work, but please OH GOD PLEASE do not use a maf adaptor and cone filter from Pep Boys. Leave the intake stock or get one that is proven to work well on the Evo. Unless someone has actually installed the same thing from pep boys on a IX with a tune, I don't see how anyone could answer that question definitively...

I know that the HKS RS Intake has been proven to work, but anyone see a difference on a IX with the simple stage one?

Please don't put a pep boys filter in your car, that would be disgusting..... That filter probably can't filter worth crap, and you'll end up with a dirty dirty engine =(

--checks date for April 1-- no such luck.

Yank it out, buy a drop in K&N filter if you MUST. Then get tuned. Make sure the K&N is not over oiled, they can come that way stock.
