Doesn't his '05 VIII already have a 10.5 hotside? Correct me if I'm wrong.

couldn't have said it better myself, yes the 9 comes out of the box more beefy but like you said everytime I drive by my local dealer there are always IX MR's there. There 8 is truely a low production vehicle which people will notice years from now!
Don't get me wrong the 9 is a beast but they should have never came out with a graphit grey gsr
can't explain the feeling of someone seeing the color of the car and knowing it was a MR.
All good things come to an end though.

1. IX Does not come with a 20g
2. Any 05 VIII has the 10.5 hotside. The only difference that truly makes a difference is the mivec in the IX. MR, GSR, RS engines are all the same.

Both are equally as nice in my mind. Agreed with above that the VIII MR will be way rare in years to come.

8MR > 9MR based on production #s, & the 9's in general killed the uniqueness of the gg color...

That's kind of funny because around here mine is the only IX I have ever seen. I've seen at least 4 different GG VIII MR's in this area. There is even an AMS GG MR for sale on the used car lot at the local Nissan dealer.

My brother has an 8 MR and I have the 9 MR. Don't get me wrong, I love no both cars but the 9 is simply the better car with more potential for mods with the factory engine and turbo. I wouldn't care if there were as many IXs on the road as there are Honda Civics; I want the better car and the thrill that comes with driving it.

The difference is almost insignificant/minor (bone stock trim).

Personally I prefer the VIII bumper than the IX.
