The only data that you could actually be correct on is the number of MRs Mitsubishi made in 2005 and 2006, and then you said (supposed to be numbers) which means you are not even sure of that. If you don't suppose you know those numbers which are facts given by Mitsubishi, how are we suppose to take your less than 1% avg and that most of the trannys are broken do to road course driving for more than 20 minutes numbers and comments to be tru and correct.
I believe you just decided to type something up. Very common.

Mine is a little notchy @ start-up but shifts smoothly after a couple of min. driving. Other than that i have had no problems with the transmission for 17,xxx miles and I track mine but for no more than 15-20 min. @ a time with at least an hour of cool down in between sessions. I also change all fluids before track days and auto-x.
I've had zero issues with mine.
But, like others have said, I don't beat on it. I try to shift smoothly, without slamming the gears home.
Also, I've never launched it. If I was looking to drag race (which, truthfully, I have no interest in), I wouldn't have gotten an Evo in the first place.

Ok, so I've heard about how sturdy the STi's AWD system is, and how it can take much more abuse than the Evo's, and that's great, but I paid a lot of money for my car ($31,000) and I don't plan on beating it into the ground.
And like you said, if you were looking to drag race, you wouldn't have gotten an Evo. The same applies here, except for I bought an STi. If I wanted to drag race I would've either purchased a Mustang or just simply use my Camaro. Hell, I don't even drag race my Camaro. I just love my cars because I love'em! Why modify'em if I don't race'em? Easy. BECAUSE I CAN.
I use my MR as a daily driver even on long road trips to New Hampshire, Jersey, Baltimore, etc... I got the car back in October 05 and presently have over 20,000 miles, 17,000 with the mods i have listed below, i have been to the strip twice, and to 3 different autox events, still on the stock clutch and my tranny is mint, shifts perfect, and seems to get smoother all the time....
Hope this helps!

I don't street race but i AUTO-X and have done a few 1/4mi runs...
but the key to keeping your transmission good is not slamming the shifter into gear ( may cause damage to gear selectors and other parts of the transmission ). i know a ton of people who drag race and slam the shifter into place but their foot speed sucks and their transmission gets messed up. you can shift properly fairly fast just by working on your clutch foot motion.
for sinister subaru i know you don't race and your stall torque converter in your sig isn't especially high but if you don't mind me asking why install it if you don't race the camaro - wouldn't it slightly slow your throttle response or is it such a minimal change that you can't notice it?

Not to mention, I've had the transmission rebuilt THREE times within 25,000 miles. Yes, that's right. Each time I got a crappy rebuild, and by the time the transmissions popped they were out of their 1 year warranty. Quite frustrating.
I didn't notice a slower throttle response, but it's much more difficult to do burnouts because the brakes don't want to hold, plus I don't want to press my luck and break something. Instead of burning up tires, the car really launches with authority. I think I made a wise choice with the 2400 stall because it gets the motor right up into the powerband.
No, I don't race my cars, so why mod them? I don't know. I just love fast cars and hot rods. If it's going to be reliable and provide me a thrill, I'm all over it.
