The Evo's.

Okay, I know this question is probably answered somewhere else in this great forum, but search is not working for me, so I decided to post this up.

I am in the very near future of purchasing an EVO. My problem, which one?

I have heard great and amazing comments about the EVO9 MR. ( one of the models on my mind )

I have also heard mixed facts about all the other EVOs. My buddy owns a EVO7, and
says its sh!tty. He said the EVO was perfected when the 8's came out. Now im not
interested in the EVO7, but I am interested in the 8's and 9's.

So now, Between the EVO8's, which is the best? I have heard the MR is good for the 6 speed in long runs, but I have also heard that the MR is just a waste of money. I have heard you cant tell a difference in a GSR/RS EVO. Would this statement be correct?

Okay, so last question...

What about the 9's? I have heard MIVEC is the shizz, but I have also heard that it really doesnt make a great difference in the 9 MR. Can anyone tell me exactly which is the best buy? Im not talking in the sense of how it feels, because I have test driven a 9 MR and a regular 8, not pushing either of them they both are very similar.. Unfortunatly, I never got to push either so I am not sure if they are different when in HI RPMS.

So if anyone could help me or link me to a thread that has already covered this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
seeyaSTi

IXs are faster than VIIIs. 05 VIII is the fastest of that bunch. MR or GSR is a preference. suspension on the MR is slightly softer and it has the 6spd. if you are going to be racing i say buy a gsr.

all the high HP evos are 8's, so if you plan on taking it past 500 wheel, get an 8, but for basic bolt ons to a small upgraded turbo, a nine will treat you the best, hell for about 1200 in part you can have 330 wheel hp.

I think that's more a question of time than anything else.

All the people with the beastly cars have been working on them for a long time, so they are all VIII's. I imagine some crazy IX's will start showing up in the next year or so.

Sounds like a costly move. How much did you lose trading in your MR so soon?

Didn't like the 6-speed? Too much shifting?
