Newb here with a new GG ix

Hey whats up Evom? i just bought a new GG ix. i used to own a stage 3 srt-4 with about 350 wheel horsepower. i was so tired of the traction issues so i sold it. so far i am very happy with the evo but the drivetrain is pretty noisy but i guess that is normal? i notied today when i drove it to school today and i was waiting for the turbo to cool down a little bit before i shut it off there was SMOKE coming from the passenger side of the hood. it wasn't alot just a light smoke? is this normal?

How many miles on the car? I remember hearing about a special coating they put all around the car that may burn off for 1000 miles or so

Never saw smoke... but for the first couple hundred miles you could smell stuff burning, i.e., stray grease, gaskets burning in, etc

ah in that case just give it time, I'm sure you will see it go away within a few hundred miles.

My car smelled like you lit a chemical plant on fire when it was new. Never saw any visible smoke, but the aroma was strong. All went away after 150 miles or so. I'd say you're probably fine like everyone else has said. See if you can figure out what is smoking (if it's still doing it). If it was only a one time thing I wouldn't worry about it.
