engine knock?
Dont worry about knock...With the proper Octane a Engine shouldnt knock at all, and if it does the ECu will detect it and pull timing.
And you wont blow your engine with knock..Come on people dont scare him. The only way to damage an Engine with Knock is if you dont correct it over long period of time or if your **** is way off.

If you are running pumpgas then your car's ECU is more than likely dealing with engine knock by pulling timing daily and you aren't even aware of it, because the knock is more than likely inaudible and if it just trace knock then the ECU only pulls a degree or two.
The Evo's ECU has a normal, high octane timing table for when your fuel has adequate knock resistance(octane), but can also switch over to a low octane timing table when knock count exceeds a certain preset limit.
As already mentioned, with a data logger you can log timing and see at what rpm your ECU is pulling how many degrees of timing when it sees knock. Also you can get a knock telltale device such as Knock Link or Knocklite.
Additionally, certain engine management systems(AEM EMS, EcuPlus, XEDE SMART, I think) give you the ability to monitor knock. I am not sure but I also think that Zeitronix can also display knock count. I'm sure that there are a bunch of other devices as well, that have knock monitoring capability.
