Comments on Short Ram

I just installed a short ram intake and I gained back a little bit of the low end torque I lost on with a TBE. It sounds extremely like a loud BOV, this can be for those that want the BOV noise without having to vent to atmosphere and the short ram runs good.

What kind of intake are you running? Also I thought you didnt get any gains unless you are tuned for it.

Most people tell me there is no real gain until you tune for the short ram, but the idle is not rough. But wow, nice sound. Its just as loud as a BOV venting to atmosphere.

What else have you done to your car?

I put on my TBE yesterday and experienced no bottom end torque loss...at least none that I can feel by the seat of my pants. Of course my flash and MBC might make up for that difference but who can tell.

Tune cost isnt based on what mods you have. Most cost effective way to do it (from what ive learned) is to get all your parts together and then get tuned. That way your not putting a part on paying for tuning, putting on a part getting tuned, etc. Cost of tuning depends on the shop though. You can get mail in tunes for pretty cheap, but custom tune from a shop like Vishnu is somewhere around 800 from what ive heard. Thats where im going once i move to Reno.
