Got My New Evo!

I have been reading posts on here for a while, but I finally got my Evo! I attached a few pictures, I hope I did it right! LOL

I had a 1996 Prelude with intake filter and exhaust since college, but have liked the Evo since it came out. Finally found this 2005 and fell in love. LOL But, I'm sure everyone here understands that.

I just wanted to say "HI" and I look forward to learning more. Have a good day ya'll!

Thanks everyone!

I'm really enjoying it so far. The other owner took real good care of it and it only had a little over 12,000 miles on it. I love the pick up!

Where in TN did they get married?

So, I have a question for you Evo experts. My ex had one of those neon srts and it made a sound when he shifted. I asked why and he said it was because of the turbo. Why does mine not do that? I kindof liked it for some reason. LOL!

The name was one of my original screen names that I created when I first started college (2001), quoted from an old Dr. Dre song. Just to keep things consistent, to this day, all of my user names are the same, so sometimes people give me crap for it (since it's not exactly the most mature name), but I don't really want to have to remember 50 different user names and passwords.

But regarding my parents, I forgot where in Tennessee they got married, I'll have to ask them next time I talk to them. But how is it there? I haven't been to Tennessee probably since 1995. I remember running into Isaac Hayes there, and ironically he was on the same airplane flight back to LAX as us. He was a really nice guy who took a break from his jog to hang out with us, take pictures and tell us about South Park well before it came out.

And as stated before, the sound is the blow-off valve (BOV), which does serve a purpose but isn't really necessary unless your car is putting out 50 hp or so beyond stock levels or unless you just REALLY want the noise. However, when applied to an otherwise stock engine, some people tend to report slight drops in performance. I wouldn't recommend getting one, besides, isn't the sound of your turbo spooling cool enough?

If you really like the noise get a jdm mr divertoer valve for like 100 bucks and get an intake and you will get that noise. Your stock intake box muffles the sound.
