I just imported an 05 Evo to Iceland. I am 20 and just graduated. The car is very expecive and its almoust twice as expencive here than in the US. It was about 50K with all expences here! Insurance is about 600 a year. I also have another car but thats just a 99 honda I am trying to sell... It is not easy for me but as somebody said before, you only live once!

I'm 26 years old and I just purchased my Evo 9 MR 3 weeks ago. It was a big decision for me - a step up from my Acura RSX at 36K. How do you afford it? Go to college and get a decent job and keep a clean record. Financed over 72 months at 6.75 (in AZ) comes to around 600 a month with insurance at 180. I net a little over 4K a month so do the math. Sure it's a lot to pay on a car but there's no way I'd own an Evo with a wife and kids so now's the time to have some fun, yah? So in summation, go to school, get a job and build up your credit - then you buy yourself a new Evo!

Got mine last year, traded in my Grand Caravan my parents gave me. Got 0% at $460 a month. I have to sell it now because I have to run my parents business in the Philippines for a year or so.

19 years old...busted my ***** since I was 14...I've owned a '01 Ford Lightning, '05 STi, and now an '06 Evo IX MR

I have a very good job...I go to school and my parents cover my insurance as long as my record is clean (basically so I don't drive like a moron)

I owe 12k right now paying it off over three years to build my credit

worth every penny in my book

19 Years of age.

Part-Time College Student. Make 44,000 a year + 6,000 paid for school from my company.

I bought my evo 2 months ago. I owe less than 10,000 on it. And my payments and insurance a month are under 400 dollars a month. Needless to say i put a hefty downpayment on it.

I've been an owner for 2 months and already hate it. Love the car too much.

I'm paranoid when I park it in public, girls laugh at me because i walk around the car before I get in looking for doordings when were out somewhere. Needless to say. I think im going to sell it and invest my money into a good mutual fund.

I want a old mid 90's toyota tacoma to drive. Would be so cheap on me. And much more practical.

My car history is.

It's a challenge to pay for this car at an early age and you made a great decision by deciding to wait. I make a payment of $1000 a month for the loan itself but that's only because I'm paying nearly 4 times the amount of my actual monthly payments. Saving money by not paying interest is money well saved. I just decided to finance the loan over a 4 year term at a low monthly payment just in case something happens. I got hit with a higher APR (6.9 compared to 5.9) but the car will be paid off in less than a year unless something really bad happens.

Amen brother....imagine taking on all that debt at such a young age?

I can understand the youngins' desire to own an Evo, but being "car poor" isn't the best way to start your financial future!

Lol "car poor." I understand how it is to be a teenager and want one of the hottest cars out at the time. I wanted an Integra Type R so bad when I was in my teens. I finally got it and learned the hard way how bad it is to be up to my ears in debt at such a young age. Granted the car was only 25K but 30K? Oh man I'm glad the Evo wasn't even out in the US at that time.

Don't get yourself into something you can't get out of. It would suck to have your Evo taken away cuz you couldn't pay the note. Be patient, save so that you can afford the car payment but still have some money left over. And work on getting a NEW Evo. The way I see some Evo owners driving, I'm not so sure they take care of their cars the way they should be. Good-luck

My payments arent bad since I put money down and my insurance is cheap since I am 25 and married. You need to check with your insurance company first. I've seen people paying up to $8,000 a year for insurance if they are under 21 so that might make or break your deal.

Just maxed out my credit card then threw it in the garbage, disconnected my phone, changed my name, and moved. No worries...

Hell yeah thats what I did. Best way to go, stay at home as long as you can (as long as your parents are cool).
