Be nice and let me know how you went about buying your evo :P
also, what are the pros and cons to buying a new and used evo?
Dont let all these people get you down. There is a god. Just stay away from the bad things, be responsible, and be a hard worker. You will get your reward. I dropped out in the 8th grade, got my GED, and got married at 18. I worked hard from 16-20 years of age. And then it paid off with all the skills i learned. I landed a job in the mixing department for coca cola company. At 20 i bought my new home, 350z, maxima, and a focus svt.

But now i traded the 350z for my current evo.

Ok, well, I don't have a job at coca cola. But, he's right, don't let people get you down. I'm 24, I graduated HS at 16, started working full time, went to school for a year (boring), moved to cali, and just kept working, drove a banger civic for 6 years, and finally scored my brand new Evo, my dream car. It's attainable, just takes time. My monthly expenses I calculate to be around $1,100, that includes my payment, insurance, and fuel (91 octane only - that's the best they sell in Sacramento, sadly). No maintenace or tuning besides changing the oil and filter @ 600 miles ($45 approximately).

I have a clean driving record and insurance is split up 3 ways in my household so i only pay about 1200 a year, i have two jobs now 1 as a vallet and 1 as landscaper, ive been busting my *** saving up some money, because i would like to buy my realistic dream car, the evo Ix, straight nine, college is already paid for on the account of me bringing alot of credits and scholarships with me, and i was wondering how much a monthly payment for me would be if i sell the ralliart, and put like 5 gs down in cash

That all depends on your APR. To give you an idea, I put down 6K with a 6.85% APR and my payment is $601/month. When you're buying an Evo, don't forget things like warranty, gap insurance, Lojack, etc.

No problem - good luck with the purchase. You could always go the route saying that the Evo is safer because it has more weld points and that the MR is even safer because of the HIDs...

I'm 23. Just graduated a couple months ago and got my first job. I'm making 42K plus change a year and I still don't think I can afford the EVO. Damn student loans are killing me. I think I'm doing allright though considering this is my first real job.

Your best bet is to wait. The EVO is a damn expensive car. Maintenance, insurance, car payment are quite a bit, even for those of us who already have decent jobs.

My advice:

1. Go to college and get a good degree.
2. Drive lancer for many years.
3. Wait for the big payoff that a degree brings.
4. Graduate.
5. Get good job.
6. Buy Evo.
7. Drive hot girls around that like you for your money.

Things don't always just come to you in life. most things worth having will require hard work, hard work, and more hard work...

The people who are stretching themselves to buy this (or any) car at a young age without any serious long-term employment, even if college is paid for or whatever, are going to be kicking themselves when they go to buy a house in the future. If you take the money you'd spend on a car at this time and save it up for a downpayment on a house, you'll be VERY glad you did. Then you can refi and buy whatever car you want It's very hard to think long term, but you shouldn't stretch yourself to buy crap that's going to leave you even poorer, even if it's pretty cool.

If you just hang on and really focus on getting more money (via college, job, etc) I PROMISE you that you'll be able to buy whatever you want soon after, without even having to question if you can afford it or not!
