I am upgrading to the EVO, and I am wondering if the MR edition is worth the money or should I get the IX?

get the ix.

personally if your going to track/change out everything, the mr isnt worth it.

 

...I have an MR...granted its an 8 but its not too bad

...but tis true with the prior posting...if you are going to change numerous things out there is no need to pay the extra money for the MR...wheels, interior, and suspension...

ya ive been in a similar situation but then i realized that the only reason i wanted the mr more was because of the wheels so im most likely just going to buy them seperatly unless i find a good deal on an mr.

 

i have an VIII MR and if the IX was out when i purchased mine i would've gotten the IX SE, all the +'s with none of the -'s.

 

IX MR get the best of both worlds or am I missing something?

I went from a 2003 to a 2006 Evo IX MR, the MR is better in evry way.

 

i'd say wait for the x, but if you want to get something sooner you really have to decide what you're going to be using it for mostly. me, i knew i wasn't going to be doing any heavy modifications to the car and don't plan on racing it, and i love having a sunroof too damn much. so along those lines...

if you'd like to have a sunroof = ix ssl
if you can do without and don't plan on modding = ix mr
if you can do without but plan on modding = ix
if its going to be mostly an autocross or track car = ix rs

 

One question do u really need 6 gears? Also the MR is lil bit heavier: IX- 3263, MR- 3285 If anything get the IX SE if u want the wheels, aluminum roof and HID's.
