help plz i want evo..
I'm in the same position with my srt. Love the car but I know there is better out there. I've had my chances running evo's. Track experience = humbling
Highway experience =
!. But yeah racing from a roll isn't racing. The evo has ALOT more devolpment behind it whereas the srt came out in 2003 and is already gone (in neon format). I'll miss my SRT-4 but that's only until I make a larger hole in my pocket

People here have posted times with stock cars even

Simply put to get an evo to do low 13's in the quarter mile stock you must be able to lay down excellent 60' times then it comes down to shifting technique. I think most of us have problems in the 60' times. Its something that comes with practice and from what i understand can be quite abusive on the drive train without proper knowledge.
To make it easy only relatively minor mods would have to be pursued. I would look at our vendors stage 1 kits. Those mostly consist of turbo back exhausts, air filter, and tune. The horsepower gains very quite a lot but its not uncommon to see over 30whp gains on such tunes.
Good luck.

FYI
I dont' think he was trying to be an a**. He was just answering your question. Your post seems a little touchy.
I can tell you, at the track here we've got stock Evo's running from 12.9 to 14.0+ . Its really just how good is the driver. And lets face it, everyone out there thinks their Mario Andredi (sp? sorry not a redneck
) so when they don't get the numbers they want it HAS to be the cars fault
.

As for the Beafy tranny being rough and sloppy... bs. There quite a few s2k's running 350-550 whp on the stock tranny. NO ONE has busted the s2k's tranny from power mods that I've ever heard of, and I've been keeping up with it since 2003. The S2k's tranny is tough as hell. The diff on the other hand is made of tin foil
