06 Evo or 04 GTO?!?
06 Evo or 04 GTO?!?
I don't know what I should do!! I have 6k to put down on a car. I found a great deal on an 04 GTO with only 14k miles for $17,400. I then found a dealer that'll sell me a new 06 EVO IX for ~30k OTD. Now what I really want is the EVO. I just don't want to get the GTO and be dissapointed everytime I go to drive it knowing I could be driving an EVO instead. The thing is if I get the EVO my payments are going to be ~500 a month for 60 months. Plus 234 a month for insurance per month. Where as if I get the GTO I'll only pay 300 a month for 48 and insurance would be 180. I make about 1500 a month and I only have a few expenses so I could definately swing the EVO, but I know the smarter choice is to just go with the GTO. I also don't want to miss out on getting a new IX since this is pretty much the last of 'em.

Get what you can afford, allot of people jump into an Evo and freak out on the payment, insurance, ohh you forgot gas. It drinks ALLOT of gas if you are leg happy
.Good luck on your decision.

$1500/mo isn't enough to even consider either of these cars unless you live at home, in which case you should be working on getting out of the house, not buying a fast car.
Dude if he's comparing those two cars just get an American car....an evo isnt for you if you are going to be penny pinching.....you're just going to end up not being able to afford it in the long run and in the hole another 7K because you wont be able to sell the evo for much.

OR
What about a used 05 Evo? Check out the For Sale section.
Trust me here, the 04 goat is a boat. Yes that happens to rhyme. It was underpowered, heavy, and does not handle anything like an Evo.

$1500, ya save your cash, stay in school, get a cheaper car - there will always be used Evos around (or Evo X, XI....down the road). Thats not enough for rent (or house pmts), car, food, gas, maint., insurance....BUT your cash, your car.

You can get a much better deal on the GTO than you can on the Evo. Also the insurance rates on the GTO are a lot lower.
You can get an 06 no problem for under 30k. Don't forget there is a big difference between the 04 gto and the 05/06. The 05/06 has the LS2 motor, which pushes out an additional 50 hp. Stock for stock, the GTO is most definitely faster than the evo.
The evo is a great choice as well, but it is an expensive car when considering the other car you mentioned.
If you have any questions about the 2 let me know, we have an evo 8 and a 05 GTO. Also locally there are tons of 05/06's for sale.
Good luck, either way you are in a win win situation.

. The appeal of this particuar GTO is that it's a great price for what you get from the car all around.
