i agree with all of the posts saying that the evo is not a first car.. i had the ralliart first and it was a great car to learn stick on and u can beat the crap outta it and it takes it. an evo has the weakest clutch and you will mess it up learning on it.. as for the g35 the car handles so well only on perfect road conditions.. rain its crappy and snow is no go at all... honestly i would go with a beater car to learn stick on and feel out driving in general.. take it from me i am very happy i got the ralliart first even tho i wanted the evo.. in the end i am a better and safer driver transitioning from a ralliart to the evo.. cheers and good luck with any purchase u make..

good luck with the car. hes only 16 and wants an evo. ok who cares? if he wants it, he wants it, if he crashes the car, then he crashes the car. thats on him. we can all advise him not to take it but ultimately it is his decision. my sister, when she turned 16, i gave her a lightly modded wrx and she hasnt had any speeding tickets in it. have fun with the evo but do it with dignity dont leach off ur parents. all the plans u have so far do include ur parents as the ones forking out the money. by the way, my sister had a job at 16 and shes paying for all the insurance and maintainance on the car

Yeah cause god forbid somebody actually says what everyone is thinking (including you apparently).

does your parents know how much it cost and how fast the Evo is??? if they find out, they might change their minds...anyways you should go with the IX rather than VIII, why? well someone's paying for it for you

HAHAHA SBTG you expect us to believe that youre only 17 and have dropped out of highschool, and yet drive around ferraris aston martins and have an e30 m3 and a 911 turbo, plus you are going to buy and evo completely your own. Please leave this forum and never come back.

This thread is hilarious. It seems like the only way to resolve this is a fight to the death. Winner gets to be right.

if i could of had an evo when i was 16 i would of definetly get one..

However, being older and wiser, i would suggest something cheaper,

buy a dsm awd, through on evo injectors, pump, and a big 16g, and be happy..

Lot less loss if you wreck it,

the evo is a hell of a lot of car for a 16yr old not to mention ins..........

ins would be a lot cheaper on a 91 eagle talon tsi awd and could be had for under 5K

Right now i have a evo IX bought it when i was 18, right now i am 19. I've had the car for about 2 months now and never had a ticket or have been in an accident. My first car was a 01 Prelude SH stick (LOVED THAT CAR), Then i had a ford excort for my DD, then i had a hyundai sonata. Its been 2 years since i've had my license. Insurance is going to be a bicth, mine is $5000.00 for a year. When driving the evo it is very tempting to push it to redline, so becareful and good luck. BTW did you get your car yet?

Im 16 right now, gettin close to 17(july) and when i turn 17 my father will buy me an evo. we have alot more money now that half my family is gone. for now tho, im tryin to find a cheap azz car to learn my stick on for the next 5 months so i dont burn my clutch when i actually get the car. Also, I pay for insurance, gas, maint, everything except for the cars themselves (all used also, hell no not new). Just because im stupid and young i say get your dream car now so you dont have to pay all on your own later haha. just be safe with your drivin man, and if you have to go fast...do it on an empty *** road dude, not when theres even one car in sight because your gonna end up being like magnet to them.

Nothing else I could contribute to this thread, only because all that what had to be said, has been said.BUT; let me tell you somthing coming from somone that has been 16 too... I'm 18, Lived a crazy fast life. I got into college at 17 years old. 1 year earlier than all my peers. Im going to get my B.A. degree at 20 y/o, possibly 19.

I've done alot of stupid **** back then at the age of 15-16, I thought i was the man, I was a G..but i was so wrong. Even G's get it one day. Well to make a long story short, During my incarceration, I obtained my Ged, got a full scholarship for college. my family barely makes ends meet so the state gives me financial aid and pays for my school. So the scholarship money all gets refunded to me.

And the refund is enough to pay for a brand new MR with insurance, maint, gas, and enough for some boom chicka wah wah money. (jk) and im not lucky.... not at all... I tell you i worked hard to be in a position im in. Many had have given the same oppurtunity, It all came down to who really wanted it.. so all this money is equivalent to working hard in mcdonalds.

What im trying to say is there are people that are 26, 32, and ages of all brackets that to this day will admit to you that they are still learning, and honestly deep down they somtimes forget that there 26, because yet time is so fast.,

You think at 16 you know better, but in reality your 100% wrong. even at 26 my friends constantly tell me that they still make mistakes. They make mistakes not because they are immature, or stupid, ingnorant. They make mistakes because they are humans. And thats a fact.

everybody here in evoM will tell you that untill your old and about to see that white light at the end of a tunnel , thats the only time you can acually confidently say "I know what it takes to be invincibal".

Look I've been driving a honda oddessey everyday, for the past 4 months now, It literally feels lke i've been driving for years. But I refuse to end up becoming just another statistic. I earned my spot in life, nobody put me here but god and myself. Even with the money I have to buy this car. After reading this I definately will not buy it.

I was literally just like you about 10 minites ago, debating whether I should get this car for this past year. I'm glad every one here added their 2cents. Because whether you was trying to save his life or not, you damn well saved mine today.

thank you everyone. God bless
