when ever the car is running and i shut the hood the engine tries to die..so i found that when i hit the air box with my fist it yields the same results and everything is plugged in properly...is this my MAF? or a bad one or what HELP!!!...

Its your knock sensor going off. Its normal.

 

so every evo does that?..why is the knock sensor that sensative? and why is it at the air box ?

 

I think the better question is why are you abusing your evo? It never punched you! I might have to call evo protective services on you.

At the drag way those big blocks would do the same to my car when Im stagged next to them.
