thanks for your thoughts, people.

I do believe that it does depend on the person's abilities but at the age of 18, not a lot of teenagers have had the experience of driving high powered cars safely on public roads, unless they have had the privilege of getting the proper training or experience every possible scenario that could happen on the road.

...personally, i'd hate to see that beautiful evo get wrecked before school ends/graduation due to that person's inability to properly handle it...

If you are fortunate enough to have an evo at 18 then God bless ya and enjoy it. I see no reason why age should prevent someone from getting a certain car. I had a 1990 mustang lx 5.0 hatch when I was 17 and enjoyed the hell out of it. Just my opinion though.

Happy safe driving

And the only thing they tell you when you've lost control beyond counter-steering/throttle-steering is brake and clutch all the way down. I'm not disbelieving you, but while a racing license teaches you car dynamics, how to take the racing line, and how to heel-toe at the right moment....it does not teach you "crazy spinning skills" or even how to drift.

oh.. sorry.. I went to a racing school in Korea.. sorry-_-;;
And, they actually teach people some crazy spinning skills..

not because they want me to show off on the street..
but.. "people useally get afraid that a car can flip over easily.." they wanted to teach me that; if I let my car under my control, car will never flip over even with crazy spinning~!~!

I also learned how to drift.. after putting a lot of water on the track~
and my final lesson was climbing mountain and work on up hill/ down hill.. (not drifting though.. too dangerous..)
would be fun.. rite??

I think mental age and sense of responsibility is the most important thing over anything else. If you got the skills to handle any car like a pro yet you want to drift every corner you see on the public road and race every single car you see, I would be very afraid being around you. If you got a good sense of responsibility you wouldn't be pushing your self like going downhill in the mountains at like 80mph when your suppose to go 40mph cause you understand your limits. No matter how good your driving skills are I'm certain you have limits. So an 18 with an Evo wouldn't be a problem automatically in my mind. It depends on that person's sense of responsibility in my opinion.

im sorry but half yall r retards... and half yall cant afford an evo so therefore thats y u dont have one not bcuz u r scared.. i am 19... i own my own evo... not my parents dont pay the payments.. age doesnt matter... its if u know how to drive... on top of that... the evo is actually one of the easiest cars to drive... for you smart guys that will never have a chance to drive one... evo is actually easier to drive than any other car... HANDLING wise... now the clutch and gearbox is a little different... right evo owners ... the evo is a damn lot safer than buying some peice of **** 89 CRX putting a b18c motor in there and throwin on a t66 turbo which is actually affordable for many young people... now u tell me which is safer

maybe i should of said at the beginning, "Was it a good idea of the parents to buy and let their kid drive an evo?"

I think the kids around here have parents with too much money and the lack of judgment.
