cat delete? cel?

hey, new to these boards. sold my 03 turbo rsx for a 05 mr. and have a couple questions. basically all i want is full exhaust, intake, hard pipe, and reflash. what kind of numbers should i look for?

ok, i was thinking about getting the HKS hi-power exhaust, o2 housing, and either hks or turbo xs downpipe. and also a race pipe... with the race pipe will i get a CEL. if so how do i remove it. with my rsx all i had to do was hook up my laptop when i got a CEL and cleared it using my Kpro kmanager. as i said before im new to evos, basiclly all i kno is honda. what does everyone do bout that.

and... i searched for a hard pipe kit but found nothing that can use the stock battery and airbox. are there any kits out there?

and... is it worth the money for a intake or should i just get a drop in K&N?

oh and will evo 8 partswork on my 9?

thanks alot.

Welcome, i used to have a supercharged RSX-S back in the day. Now my girl has a base. You will get a CEL if you go catless, there are a couple companies that make a SIM or you can get a test pipe with a welded on flange that you screw the sensor into and it tricks it. The hardpipe kit is not worth the money the only gains are found in replacing the lower intercooler pipe. Also i would just get a K&N drop in a intake is nor really needed for power. A friend of mine with a SS autochrome O2 housing, a ported stock exhaust manifold and a 3 inch turbo back exhaust with a boost controller and a tuned ECU made 301 HP to the wheels. You will need to get a reflash of your ECU if you are going to do the mods you are talking about it is a must and also dont forget to get a MBC. Check out these sites:
www.dynoflash.com For the ECU flash
www.amsperformance.com For the lower intercooler pipe
www.SSautochrome.com For the O2 housing
www.meganracing.com For the exhaust
www.lancershop.com For the MBC and the best prices and service on most parts for the EVO

Good luck

If you get a cel. eliminator from say, Perrin, it will come with instructions. Basically you splice in a little box near the shifter, underneath the carpeting that tricks the O2 sensor in the cat, or now test pipe. It takes about 5 minutes with a good exacto.

with an evo9, get a mbc, drop in filter, alcohol injection, tbe (all are great, some fit better than others, go to a local meet and hear and see some and decide which is best for you), fuel pump and a flash and you will have a beast on your hands...

Also if you want to try a cheaper approach get 2 spark plug anti folwers and drill em out and screw one into the other. Do a search for CEL fix and it should bring up the how to. Its worked great for others, but ive got it and i keep throwing a CEL.

where can i get the test pipe with that flange that tricks it. how does that work? why would i do alcohol injection?

the thing is, i dont want to take apart the motor. i.e no cams. so what all could i do to make the most power with tearing apart the motor.

any exhaust you get just do the spark plug fouler mod, 6 bucks and no cel, and alky injection lets u running higher boost, more timing and leaner afr's with zero knock...its like running race gas but cheaper and no killing 02 sensors...

Bolt ons, flash, no intake, plus suspension and you will have a kick *** track car. You should be in the 12's in the 1320 also. Perfect street setup. But when that modding bug catches....who knows what will happen.

but see like what bolt ons are good. what ones will make power, for example i heard that an intake wont really give that much power.

like i said before all i kno is honda. im tryin to learn about the evo now. so what im asking is for kinda a list of stuff that works and what i would need to get around 330-350whpish

The Ultimate Racing test pipe has a CEL fix already on the pipe. It bolts right up and the sensor screws into the TP..the fix is basically the antifouler trick but is already welded onto the pipe.

Also....do a little search on these things and it will come up. Welcome to EvoM.

if you have a list, the mods I gave you up above will get you well over 350whp and a mid 11sec daily driven evo...
