please help, which is a better deal?

evo 9 RS wicked white 27,999.00

or

2003 Weightless White Evo VIII, car has a little over 21,000 miles on it. I barely ever drive it, its been in the rain 2 times! NEVER IN SNOW! Car has HID's, Sunroof. Car has BRAND NEW tires, BRAND NEW clutch (act heavyduty) and flywheel (prostreet). All oil was done on time or before it was due for a change, with only Mobil 1. Car is has HKS 272/272 cams, Tein S-tech springs, FULL C/F spoiler, Fuel Pump, open filter, Unorthodox racing underdrive pulley, ARP headstuds, RMR underbrace, SS Manifold, SS clutch line, and a TT Ecu FLash. Car also has a RMR 3" downpipe, 3" highflow cat, and a 3" catback as well!

I really dont know which one to buy, im saving a lot of money on accessories and other shiit with the evo 8, but im also missing out on a mivac lighter maybe even faster evo 9. i think the 9 is better over all car, but its going to be alot more money. is it worth it? i want to be in the 350 awhp. what do you guys think? please i would love to hear from people that know what there talking about.

one more think what does the RS have? and what does the evo 8 have other the wants listed. mean from the factory.

i know the RS does not have power wnd, (no power at all) and no ABS, no moon roof. what makes the rs so much faster or better as far as racing goes, does it have a better tranny? i read that is had a different diff, is it that much better?

thanks

How much is the '03? If its the same price thats way to much. I think you can get new RS's for less then the price you listed.

The biggest drawback to my '03 has to be no LSD. Other then that I love it. If I had to do it all over again it would al come down to price but I would probably go with the IX.

i say go for the ix, it's not too hard to hit 350awhp on the ix and from what i have heard its best to stay away from '03-'04's

I think it boils down to crature comforts as in how important are the power features and ABS to you. For 5 grand more you get a brand new car that you get to mod your way and the 9 with a stage 1 package can come close to an 8 with cams especially an 03 horsepower wise. Also with the new car you have to figure in financing cost unless you're buying it outright.

is that the only drawback, the LSD. i think the RS has more to offer Right? how much lighter is it then a evo 8 that has hids, moon roof power wnd, ABS.

is it true that the transfer case is alot weaker in the 03 evo 8 then the evo 9?

Plus no snow or rain driving and he racked up 21k miles and a new clutch in that same time period? I'd bet he was beating on it pretty good or driving the hell out of it.

Ive never had a problem with my '03 other then the syncro's which were replaced under warranty. For $23k it would be a tough choice but I would probably lean toward the IX. Im pretty sure you can find them for under $27999 if you look around though.

The RS would be quite abit lighter, but it also doesnt have alot of options and I think its even stripped of the sound deadoning(sp?). Alot of it depends on what you are using it for. If its going to be a DD Id probably step up to the GSR for a couple thousand more.

get the IX, get Vishnu stage 1 and you have 305 whp with only an exhaust and a tune! Try doing that in any VIII.
