Ready to buy cams, which ones and what's involved?
I'm thinking about going with something safe like the HKS 272's ...stock turbo right now but I'm set on the BR 20G LT eventually.
what brands/size do you guys suggest?
also I'm looking on a write up on the install...there's one in the how to section but the link is dead.
my car has 16k miles on it and I'm wondering if it's necessary to replace the timing tensioner, belt etc... or anything else.
also I plan on sticking with pump gas boost levels <25psi is it abolutely necessary to put in the ARP head bolts?
I'd like to hear some thoughts from people who have done cams on their own car.
thanks

If your staying mostly stock just remember to stay away from super aggressive cams like the Jun 272's or Buschur's custom 272 grind. These high lift cams require springs to be safe and will not idle well on a stock ecu.
There are other high lift cams hks 272's and 280's are not one of them.
You can also consider some alternatives to the well known hks cams which are cheaper like Buddy club, Helix, Comp Cams just to name a few.
Have fun.

not telling you what to buy, just making a strong suggestion.... #1 272's are 272's they all kinda copy each other... i personally bought the helix 272 I and E.
v2's (tthe hollow ones) they made good power and were cheap. gruppe-s is allways runnning a deal on em and there really good people . just tryin to save ya some coin

I got some feedback from Buschur via pm a while back and he thought for my goals (20GLT turbo ~ 400-450awhp on pump) the HKS 272 would be ideal and the 280's a bit much for my daily driver.
I appreciate the feedback you guys have given as well, I've been watching some dyno numbers from the various installs on the forum and it's a bit confusing because x cams did better than y but the cars have different complimenting mods.
I'd definately like to retain the rest of the stock valvetrain. I don't plan on spinning it beyond 8k
p.s. I have a buildup thread going over here and it might give some more insight into what I'm after.
