IX vs X, which one should i buy?
This is the funniest I've read in a while.
From "here we go again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" to "Never seen a thread like this before...."
But the best is:
The Evo X is going to be all aluminum.
Meaning it won't be able to take the increased boost pressure that ya'll are used to doing to your motors. It will just blow up into pieces everywhere.
These two replys are great also
there goes another n00b who deesn't know anything about engines, why do the top fuel cars crank about 8,000 hp on a aluminum block w/50 psi of boost on nitro-methane!!
&
Actually the engine is going to feature an aluminum block and aluminum head, not the whole car. Just like the LS-1 that might be under the hood of the T/a you have. So I guess someone should tell all the people with FI'd LS1's to stop before they "blow up into pieces everywhere" huh?
LOL

X or IX was my dilemma couple of month ago, when I sold my WRX.
I couldn't wait... got a 06 evo IX and are planning to keep it for at least two years (till the warranty ends). By then the new evo X and also the new STI both are on the roads and can be tested... and then I'll decide, weather to buy one of the new ones for showing off or keep driving my iX... if the new ones don't turn out so good.
If there will be a dual clutch transmission, like VW has (have driven a R32) - then it would be better than the manual of course... with single clutch (like M3, have driven as well, didn't like) i will go for the manual....
By the way, today I testdrove a new STI... on the highway they (compared to my stock IX) were equally fast... evo beeing a little bit faster may be.. but what comes to handling or the feel... oh, I,m glad I have the evo!

The new X should be better. Engine wise, the aluminum block should make more than enough power than most people could want or need.
I'm mainly interested in how the car handles. The current EVO has decent performance despite many short comings like high roll centers, poor camber gain, and something like a 60-40 weight distribution. Making the engine lighter and pushing the wheels further out may do interesting things to the weight distribution. There is quite a bit of room for improvement.

The reason why it has 60 percent front end weight distribution is to prevent the Evo from oversteering excessively on loose surfaces found in rally racing.
Too much oversteer and drifting will cause you to slow down, fall off course, and that's why drifting sucks.
I wondering if they'll skip the XIII for people who have triskadeskaphobia, or whether they'll make a stealth black special edition model, like only 1313 produced. That would be awesome.
Yeah, you should wait and get one of those.

i read an article on the x and they said they over engineered it..being it will be able to withstand lots of extra boost...i dont think they look good...its like a cross between a gto and a charger, but motor wise i thumbs up..i might take it if it can fit in a 9
