Just warmin up..

Wassup everyone. I'm new to the community and have a basic question most of you will be able to answer I think. I'm a die-hard car enthusiast but do not have much experience with mechanic work or fabrication. I own an 06 EVO IX and am wondering what's a good starting setup for basic bolt-on mods to achive better overall street performance? I searched the threads, but most of the mod pointers are for guys who do auto-x and track runs. Any advice would be great. Thanx and glad to be aboard!

Hi welcome to the community. Did you properly break in your car yet? If so you can go with like any basic stage 1 from any of the well known name companies like AMS, or like BUSHUR. I am sure if you do a little more seach you can find a lot. But yeah that is a good way to start off if you want good power for cheap. Hope that helps and welcome ^_^.

hey and welsome. I too have a 06 IX Mr, and have done a complete exhaust mod. From the turbo all the way to the tip. It encompasses a Down pipe, cat delete(some people call this a test pipe), and a cat back exhaust. My next mod will be an intake( but some say to stay with the stock air box as it works very well. next will be a boost controller. The stock unit doesn't work that well because it jumps all over the place and doesn;t hold a consistant boost pressure. Also the stock configuration lets off boost after4500rpm leveling out at around 16psi. I've done all this aspart of my eventual goal of a streetable 450-500whp car.
What you ask really all depends on what Your goals are. I know you mentioned a streetable ride which is great but just how much power do you want? Do your research use the Search fubction on the site(some older members will dog you if you dont). Stay focused and above all else have fun with your Evo. It is a fantastic road going auto. Ask questions if you dont understand .........

dont mean to intrude over your thread but, is it possible to fit a 3in aftermarket downpipe from a 03 evo8 on to a IX?
