Where can I find some general driving/modding info

Hey guys, I was wondering where I could find some info on basic driving theory and techniques, and also some basics to how cars work, what all the parts do, and some basic mods. Right now I'm still a newb to cars but I would really like to get into it.

Right now I don't have my own car, but now that I am going off to college I need my own car. I was thinking about buying an evo. My dad has a BMW but I hate driving that thing. Also whats the point of getting a car like an evo if you cant drive it right or even change its tire well I can do that)

Thats why I'm trying to get some info before I get one
