I push my car when I have the chance. I am usually in traffic the majority of the time when I am driving. Since I just ignore my low boost setting now and have it at 21 psi... I love first and second gear on the street. I shift NORMALLY at 3500-4000 RPM. When I am bored, I go to about 6500-7000 in first and second. If a turn is coming up and the road is clear, I go WOT in 2nd to start sliding. I wouldnt say I beat on my car, but I definitely dont beat on it... Only those canyon/mountain runs where the group of cars drives like complete idiots. Fun stuff though.

After talking to warrtalon and realizing he "drives his car the way it was meant to be driven" every day, I got a little less fearless of damaging the car, Now I noticed the car works better when you drive spireted. So the redline starts at 7 and I have gotten mine up to 7800 where my rev limiter is. Still now damage, I drive daily on 23.5psi and I use 93 octane. 4k and some boost is the norm for me but I do lay into it alot also. BTW I only have 4000 miles. The car is meant to do this so fear not.

I boost 1.7 bar everyday (traffic/roads permitting). I honestly think the only time I push the car is on long road trips. Both due to faster speeds (higher rpms), not being able to get the same gas along the way, etc. I try to avoid having my EGTs up for extended periods of time on road trips (only happens when accelerating from 120+mph). I am too much of a wuss to find out what would happen to the engine if I drive at full trottle for over a minute at those speeds.

Upcoming mods should provide cooler air and more fuel to the engine if need be, so I might push the car harder on long road trips as well

These cars were made to be driven hard. Have fun.

My DD = My Race Car

I've got about 60,000 miles of hard driving and racing on it. It's making 370-430whp (depending on dyno) on the stock engine internals and they are holding up fine to the 28-30psi of boost (about 2 bar). I've had my rev limiter set at 8000 rpms for a year now and hit it very frequently. The car has seen the fun side of 160mph more than once.

Don't worry about it. It can take it.

I don't know anymore what driving his car hard means

Speed limit are so low that we don't have to brake with corners (almost )
I shift always after 5000rpm (when the car is hot).

I don't consider that I drive hard. I don't race, I don't lauch my car and it's my DD (30k mi, WT package, stock cluch).

BTW, speed limit on highways ramp means you can at least go twice as fast

Just make sure your oil and other fluids are always serviced on a regular basis, and keep an eye on your tire tread, and spank the evo around town like you know it can be man.

Isn't shifting at max torque worse for your clutch than at redline?
