I let my oil temp get to temp before I hit any boost and I try not to hit the rev limiter when shifting - Everything else is fair game. That's about it. When I'm not driving fast I stay out of boost as much as possible and I'm easy on the tranny and clutch, I heel toe shift and rev match always. I do full clutch depress shifts and make sure the clutch is engaged before getting back in the gas. 21K miles on stock clutch, 1 trip to road track, 4 trips to dragstrip with average 3 launches each trip, probably an equal number of street launches as well. At least 1000 full WOT pulls in 3rd and 4th gear to redline (half of those bumping the rev limiter for a second) while tuning. I got the advans to last to 15K (they were kinda ruff when I changed them), and I change oil every 3k and change driveline fluids at twice the recommended interval. My Evo takes my son to school every morning, me to work, and the whole family to the grocery store every week. (our STI is cramped inside so the Evo is the family car - LOL). Oh yea, I had to get new brake pads at 18K miles and there was just about 1mm left on the old pads.

I'm about the same as Mr. Evo IX, however I've never tracked the car and have 50K miles on my stock clutch. Only "soft" launched the car twice. Change fluids at recommend intervals. At 41K, I had to replace my pads (used Hawk HPS). This is my DD as well, however we use the Wife's Eddie to go to the grocery store as the Evo gets a little cramped with two car seats However, we make most of our close (within 100 miles) road trips in it.

One of the deciding factors for me over the Sti was the Evo had more room.

Hmmm, what temp do you let it hit before you start boosting.. I've heard numbers, I'm just comparing.. Thanks!

A wise man once told me that one day you won't have it beat on anymore, so do it while you can. I go in spurts, sometimes I baby the car for gas and such, but the majority of the time its shifting at 6500. I do a lot of highway driving so on ramps are goooood

Honestly, I have owned the car since December.

Times flood it = 25 maybe? Yes, it has only seen pedal to the metal 25 times...if that.
Times past 75 mph = 10 maybe?
Times launched it = 0
Total miles = 5,500

You know what, 10 of those times that I floored it was for only one reason and that is...I heard you should do it every so often to clean the engine of carbon.

I also have hit 1 bar (yes not even full boost), maybe 25 times. So screw flooring it, I dont even hit 1 freaking bar. I think I have gone over .5 bar 50 times. For real, I am what you call a slow *** driver. Now, I do driver 60 mph everywhere. So 60 in a 65 zone (5 mph below speed limit), 60 in a school zone, 60 in the housing area, 60 on normal 45 mph roads...60 everywhere.

The main thing is, I take forever to hit 60. Most minivans put me to shame. And I'd say I barley beat the dump trucks from stop light to stop light.

I sometimes wounder if I'm screwing up my car by doing this.

BTW, 0 tickets in my life and I pay $391 every 6 months for the EVO and my beater Neon.

Yeah...but its true. I'm a worry-o-halic...If I beat it I'll stay up all night thinking I broke it. BTW, its called OCD disorder...my life sucks...LMFAO.

Dont worry though, I'm going to get on it for the first time on the 14th of October. I will be running my first autoX event.

every shift 5k, every on ramp is road course corner. Draft Porsche's, BMW's and Vettes at every opportunity.
