If you try to torque a set of Rays aluminum lugs past 85 ft lbs it would strip the threads. I use 80 ft lbs. and check them every week.

I got to school for suspension (which includes wheels and tires), and its highly recommended that you don't go over the factory specs, even with after market lug nuts. If your using a impact gun, use a 80ft 21mm torque stick.

You have to be carefull. The torque stick is supposed to be used at a specific line pressure. They are usually callibrated for 90psi light pressure with the gun dialed down to xx ft lbs. I check my torque stick with my torque wrench; with my gun on the lowest setting (ingersol gun btw), the lug was torqued to 140ft lbs on a 80ft lb stick.

The factory spec on just about every mitsu model is approx 75 - 87ft lbs.
