does anyone regret getting hks exhaust
My selection criteria was power gains vs sound level and availability (I am located overseas).
With the TI, it is more a question on how much $ you are willing to pay for X lb of weight reduction. If I was you, I would compare this number with ($/lb) with other options (small battery, etc)...
All I can tell you about the HKS TI is that it is quality, it is very light (you could probably pick it up with one finger)

its an easy comparison ,because the basic set up almost a same everytime:
dropp in MBC and TBE.
almost everybody have K&N dropp in ,MBC /it wont matter wich one, as long as it's hold a boost./
so only main difference is most of the time is the exhaust.
and two guys who made the most whp and wtq as far as i know /'cos i didn't stayed all day long/ have HKS TBE .I think the high power one./both is GG IX GSR/
so HKS is a good exhaust ,period.
i have a Tanabe Medalion Touring because i need a quiet one. Also i do not like the angled looks and the oval exhaust style. But this is all my personal opinion.
I got a HKS Carbon Ti. Fitment is horrible, hangs way too low. If you have a IX, the piping is really close to the driveshaft so you may have to modify it to not rub(mine rubs after driving for awhile as the pipe expands). I think this is because its made for a XIII. But I still love it, not as loud as other exhausts + looks nice. I modified it to fit better/not rub so
. Cost to modify: $85.
Carbon Cover is Carbon Fiber around the Exhaust, and TI Tip is just a Titanium Tip. When you get the carbon you get the TI tip.

When i bought my 8 used the previous owner had put an hks ti carbon on and i think it looks great. Not to say i dont like the way other look casue alot look good I just dont like any others that much more to make me change it. As for the sound its really nice not high pitched but its a nice deep sound is it loud though but i also have a 3 in. downpipe and test pipe. As for lack of horsepowe idk anything about it but i can say that with my mods (hyperflow intercooler, full exhaust, hmbc, hks intake, and walbro 255) I made 325 awhp at TT off a custom flash. I have no intention of changing to another exhaust, just want to get my cams, springs, and retainers installed so I can go back for another tune. Oh and as for road tar, its really not that bad plus it comes off easy if you know what to use and even easier if you just give it a quick clean when you wash your car.

I had my HKS 30th Anniv. on my Evo w/ a Helix downpipe and Ultimate Racing cat delete and absolutely loved it! No regrets at all. I loved the way the car sounded, not too loud no resonating, a very high quality piece that cleaned up very easily when I pulled it back off of the Evo.
the catback isn't where big power is made...
i run a downpipe, cutout/testpipe with stock catback...
with the cutout open my only gain is very fast spool and about 1mph in the 1/4.
that is not a big deal... and we're talking the FACTORY STOCK EXHAUST. the power from a exhaust is made from the downpipe and test pipe, not changing the catback.
another member dan bajananaisiais.. i dont know how to spell it claimed on a dyno he only picked up 7whp going from stock catback to open downpipe.
i wouldn't worry about it unless ur making 500whp
