bov question

HKS SSQV BOV with Recirulation & Evo Mount. Can I use this without retuning since is recirculating and adjustable?

I have a n00b question about this...

Is there any benefit to getting a BOV if you're running stock boost or are they mainly for when you want to run higher boost and don't want the stock BOV leaking pressure?

In the past, I've known guys to get BOV's just for the added sound, seems goofy to me.

the only reason for them if your running stock boost is for the sound yes, dont bother getting one until you turn the boost up past 24-25psi, you'll run the best with the stocker

this is true as long as your stocker is from a IX since the crappy plastic DV on the VIII's are known to leak at stock boost levels.

im pretty sure its b/c it is a dual valve.. the screw allows for you to adjust how tight the diaphram is so when you're running higher boost it will allow the valve to open according to the boost level. in other words, you tighten it, adn you should run higher boost to get the valve to open all the way. loose and its good for lower boost...you dont need as much pressure to open the valve... someone correct me if im wrong.

At idle my bov seems fine. But at stationary position when I throttle it, my idle drops below 1k. Doesnt seem normal. But then again I dont have a tune.

I'm sure most would agree that this may be the issue. Might be prudent to get that done.

check for vacuum leaks. if any of your hose couplers on the IC pipes are just a little loose, enough to let air out, you're car wil behave like it wants to stall
