STi Or Evo
Anyways, why look for an Evo (or STi) for performance if u gonna drive an automatic. Sure, there are other cars out there that are auto-performance oriented, but nothing comes close to the performance of the Evo smoking cars costing twice as much or more (ie. Evo VS Lambo at the track)
But like everyone said, buy a hyundai, kia, scion or honda instead

haha you know, this does show all of us evo owners something... we're the envy of 17 year olds... man, that sure tops my list of things to do before I die... All for fun guys!. Though i think the biggest problem, and the cause of all this flame isn't cause this is some 17 year old wanting to buy an evo... its more of hte fact that he just outright didn't bother to do his research at all... at all.
Hey, i just turned 17 and i have my full liscence here in new york. After working every day after school till 9 since i was 15 (lol) i have enough money for either the EVO or the STi and some extra to add some mods. I was wondering which car you guys would perfer if you had a 2nd chance. Would you stick with your Evo or take a shot with the STi? And also i was wondering if either of the models came with Automatic transmission. It'd be my daily driver too and i dont want to fuse around with the stick shift all the time. Thanks!

had one before my evo and i loved it and miss it. a pretty fast N/A car for the money. imo one one the fastest fwd 4 cyl in the right hands. also very fun to drive a ton of torque down low. u can find one with brembos up front to if u want. i could get 30 mpg if i wanted with my spec. thats my .02 cents test drive one. if u get and evo you will probly kill yourself with it. btw STI should not be an option
I would get a DSM and throw a grand at it, drive it for a year, then get the Evo. If you smash up the DSM its going to be no big deal, and the AWD configuration will get you used to some of the the driving dynamics of the Evo.
Well your 17 and I think you should not step into the realm of an Evo or an Sti and considering your asking questions like to they come in automatic transmissions Im going to assume you have not done your homework on either car. When you turn 17 you should step into a honda civic or a eclipse something along those lines, just dont think your ready for either one.
get an evo
i am 16 and i have an evo for pretty much my first car. But never would i have an auto transmission its my daily driver i dont mind it at all. i like the evo better than the sti although i have never driven an sti but from what i know the evo smokes them.
Here's the first automatic Evo I've ever seen! Couldn't believe my eyes! You'll need to be a member to look at all the pics (which is free) but I was quite surprised when I saw it on a Japanese website I check out quite often. Didn't know they made them...Kinda defeating the purpose of getting the car IMO if you go auto, but I guess what works for you!
I live on a 21x7 mile island with over 150,000 vehicles and would take manual anyday even in our bumper to bumper traffic!!
