Did I possibly install the heavy duty spring incorrectly? Did it have to be turned all the way counter-clockwise or something when I put the spring in? Just wondering if it could be anything I'm overlooking. I did get the boost to start going up with the spring that came in the controller, so hopefully it's not defective.

My hallman knob was spinning on the screw, so I had to apply an industrial glue...make sure you are really compressing the spring while turning the knob....if you have access to another MBC, just swap out and see what happens...As far as installing the spring, just make sure the spring is in first and then the ceramic ball (make sure it is sitting properly)...

I know this is frustrating, but please just try swapping the lines and see if that solves your problem.

Alright I'll try swapping lines; also, what is the "proper" way for the ceramic ball to be sitting?

I apologize for the annoyance of this; however, I really do appreciate your help.

Where do I apply this "nut lock?"

I understand what you're saying, I just don't want to put that stuff in the wrong spot.

Maybe the spring isn't lined up properly. Maybe the little ball isn't seating and allowing blow by. Take apart the unit and try it again.

I also just got the hallman boost controller and cant boost higher than 16psi.
my setup is Wastegate to MBC (with provided hallman tubing)
Turbo nipple to MBC (using stock line from Turbo to solonoid)
I capped of that disconnected side of the solonoid.

is there a pill restrictor in that stock line thats causing my problem?

Don't use the stock tubing as I believe there is a restrictor pill in one of the vacuum lines.

However, I have an update, finally a productive one.

I got my boost controller to start boosting more; however, during the day it seems to only do 15 psi or so. At night, when it's much cooler, it goes to 15 very fast, then slowly creeps up to 19 psi or so. Should I try the other method of T'ing into the vacuum line that runs into the blow off valve. I have heard that using this source for boost allows for more consistent boost control. I'm going to take the MBC apart again and make sure it's lined up properly, and then I'm going to go ahead and try the other method of hooking up the lines. Thanks for all your help in advance.

OK so it sounds like either your MBC is defective / not working properly or you have a boost leak. Try borrowing a friends MBC and determine whether it is the MBC, since you don't have the tools to perform the leak test (at least I think that is what you said during our call).

Good luck...

I dont think the T-ing into the BOV is a good idea. Hallman says to use the turbo nipple after all it is directly where your boost is coming from. Plus If somehow the boost control fail, your wastegate will still only allow 12 psi max. Now if you T into the bov and it fails During a shift the BOV will fail and boost will continue to climb druring shifting. which is bad.

From what people are telling me your really have to turn the hallman a lot to start to increase boost, I been barely turning it afraid of over boosting I guess. I will try to give it a few turns and see what happens.
