Thanks,

Why do you need to change it? What is going wrong with the car?

I had the code for a front o2 a while back and cleared it. It didn't come back until six months later until it really went bad.

Mitsubishi cars EAT O2 sensors. I replace probably 2-3 a week...so no its not uncommon.

I disagree, I work on a variety of cars (domestics and imports). Mitsubishi cars (new and old) tend to consume them at about the same rate as cars from other manufacturers

It just seems that way...but all I do is work on mitsubishi. Half the check engine lights that come through are for a O2 or cat. converter.

You guys are fooling yourselves if you blame the car for eating the sensor.

40k miles on the evo and the stock sensor in the front is wonderful...

However.. leaded fuels like RACE GAS DEFINITELY kills o2 sensors, its a pretty well document case here. Supposedly running a couple tanks of normal gas between race gas useage minimizes the effects of clogging and ultimately killing the platinum tips in the o2 sensor.

I cleaned the o2 sensor with brake cleaner and double checked the connections and it seems to be working..... now on the other hand i have an a/f gauge and i can't get a constant read for anything it just bounces constantly..... but good news is NO cel..... yeahhhhhh

I have 63k on all my 02 sensors, is that ok or should I change them? I'm not having any problems that I know of.
