Is it time to upgrade my stock FP to a Walbro 255 yet?

When should I upgrade my fuel pump on my IX? I guess the stocker is good with a TBE, but what are the benefits to upgrading now with my current mods? Thanks!

Upgrade when you get injectors -- which usually means a bigger turbo. Until then the stock IX pump is just fine

why does AMS give you a fuel pump in their stage 1 kit then? that is one of the only stage one kits i seen that come with a fuel pump. other kits dont include a fuel pump until stage 3 or 4

There have been a lot of "tests" done and some say the stock IX pump is good and others say its a good idea to upgrade when you start increasing boost (which I'm guessing you did with the MBC). I got one just to be safe. You will need to get tuned after installing the fuel pump though.

Interesting. I didn't realize AMS did a fuel pump for stage 1.

It isn't a bad foundation for future mods but I have never seen a thread where the stock IX pump has failed or fallen short so...

we do not include a fuel pump in our stage 1 for the IX, it is not needed. Check out the fuel pump test we just did here at the shop. the stock IX pump is good through stage III
